A top 20 fighter is not the equal of 50ish ranked fighter. There are levels in the heavyweight division and Joshua has not proven that he can move through the top levels of this division yet.

Even against his relatively poor selection of opponents his chin and stamina have looked like they might be weak. He hasn't even passed the eye test with flying colours and his record certainly hasn't passed the world class test.

Joshua is unproven at world level and will remain so after this fight.

I imagine that Breazele will look utterly dreadful too, just as he already did when badly struggling with someone like Fred Kassi only two fights ago.

Martin and Breazeale were supposed to fight at one point and I liked Martin in that. For all his limitations in my view he doesn't look as slow (DB is so slow it's painful to watch), clumsy, and easy to hit as Breazeale does, and I think their power is comparable.

I watched the fight against Mansour live (on telly) and it was definitely a fighter (Mansour) against an athlete (Breazeale).

Breazeale got battered early on but showed a lot of heart to keep getting up/coming on. The ending was a shocker as Mansour didn't look hurt at all and was looking likely to get a stoppage in the next couple of rounds (from what I remember).

But Breazeale is athletic & had a bit of a bang himself & is bigger than Joshua - as was that Scottish fella.

It's not a bad fight for the Englishman ( ) Joshua. Julio Cesar Chavez kept busy between the big fights so a similar style for Joshua would do me (OK, I know he wouldn't be AS busy).

It's NOT a PPV fight but if the card is "stacked"

Awful comparison IMO although I can see where you were coming from when you made it.

JCC was a star who was a seasoned world champion, moving through the fights fighting literally everyone and anyone. Elite, champ, contender, whoever so sure, popping in an easy one in between was no big deal. Christ the guy fought so often he got to 115 fights! Not really the same as a 16 fight, new world champion who has yet to actually fight anyone

Breazle is a big lump, but is very easy to hit. In that sort of tall upright way rather than a short tucked up, more likely to take them on the arms and gloves sort of way.

Pretty sure this spells only one result. But then what do we ever expect from our guys' first defences. Unless they are forced to fight someone like Tyson and Anthony Crolla have been then it's pretty much always a bag of sh1te.

You need to stop taking things so literally.

The comparison is that I'd rather watch Joshua fight often with some big fights mixed in with Beazeales than just watch him fight once it twice a year.

Before you reply to people you should go for a walk or a wank while chanting 'serenity now " over & over.

Wow, Breazeale pretty much looked like an idiot in his last two fights and won both of them with a lot of luck...

I doubt in what round he goes KO, I think the second, because Joshua doesn't, or barely attacks any more in the first round.

I think when we remember (and I keep having to point this out) that this is not in anyway a bona fide title fight (Fury is the champ) we can maybe relax a bit more.

breazeale is another prospect. ok he isn't particularly good but lets face it both guys have similar records (under 20 fights).

this is much better than, say, fighting tony Thompson

as for breazeale? well, he has been crudely effective against short stocky opps. He survived a few scares to take out Mansour and Consuegra with short chopping shots inside. Mansour, nasty upper to the jaw. Consuegra crude blows to the back of the head (above the ear, just about legal).

many felt Nagy Aguilera outworked him.

all in all it looks like a quick ko for Joshua inside 3. but I would argue that Breazeale is at least better than Martin turned out to be. Martin was considered their champion of course ...ahem

all im saying is at least its not worse.

It could be worse, but surely some gnarled old veteran who could put a few miles on Joshua's clock would've been a wiser option -- just for the sake of development. I can understand EH wanting to cash in on a quick turnaround fight after the Martin debacle, but unless he has something big lined up for the Autumn this does seem like a wasted opportunity.

It's not a great choice given he had Duhapas,Molina and jarrell miller to choose aswell. The rest of the IBF top 15 are either fighting, injured or prince Charles martin.

So I get the anger at it being PPV only idiots will buy it for the main event, the chief support is worthy imo groves v Murray.

But let's forget that AJ has a world title, he has had 16pro fights.

He has faced probably the right level of opponent up till now, if he was fighting in nightclubs or on Kell Brooks under cards no one would be complaining.

The champion at heavyweight fought nevan pajkic in his 17th fight.martin rogan a taxi driver in his 18th and viddy madalone in his 19th.

He didn't exactly face murderers row on his way to the top, but no one was slagging him when he was fighting Joey abell either. Fury has only fought 1 live person and that's wladimir outside of his British title fight with chisora and he's on 25fights.

So let's get past the hype machine and give Joshua a break over his opponents. The heavyweight isn't the best division, there's a big gap between those at the top table and those just below like Joshua is.

Personally I think Joshua will walk through this one, which give times to free up some other guys and habe a voluntary again in October v hopefully someone better. Till then don't stress it's only boxing

Watched a bit of Breazeale yesterday he is poor. No way does he see the 3rd round terrible mis match .
