A ten second clip is enough to see a weakness or fault in a boxer.
Isn't!
It is, if you see a fault, cornermen have restricted view, unlike watching it on video and still have to spot anything in each round, then in the minutes rest make the right calls, unlike someone watching a whole fight on tv, with slow motion views and commentary.

At least two pro trainers on here have thought the sparring clip shows an indication of bad things for brook in the fight, which is enough to make me listen

By the way I like Mackin but I think brooks accuracy jab and sharp.punching would give him big problems. Macklin not a huge middleweight so he wouldn't bully brook I don't think, and his problems with marking up around the eyes would also be a factor IMO, I think Brook would bust him up and Macklin isn't a big enough one-punch hitter to stop him early

Because Smith landed shots on Brook, people are saying he's going to get demolished by Triple G.

Because Brook landed on Smith, people are saying this means Cinnamon demolishes him.

You'd think two world title holders heading into the biggest fights of their careers, in the same month, would land punches on each other?

Brook's attitude toward Smith will be different to his attitude toward Golovkin.

My worry for Brook. He likes to wait for his man to attack, so he can land neat, short counters. It's just his style and his temperament. That's like an invitation for Golovkin to walk through you. I think Brook needs to do some leading, surprise Golovkin with the quick shots, some countering, getting in, getting out. Using lots of movement and requiring a great deal of stamina. He really needs to be on it. It's a tightrope he's going to have to walk.

I think Brook would stop the other middleweight champions out there, but Golokin has a great chin, big power and very good boxing skills, when he choses to box. In my opinion only Alverez is a big test for him, but Alvarez is much younger, so he will wait until Golokin shows signs of ageing or starts to slip a bit. Golokin might move up in weight before that.

I don't think it's just that they ;anded it's that neither looked even close to the calibre needed to beat GGG or Canelo.

In the sparring Brook looked eager to exchange punches, considering his style as a slick boxer. But this is only sparring. And they have had some back and forth before, I believe. My worry for Brook is not based on the sparring.

If i remember right they have weight divisions to stop little men getting hammered by big men .. Just remember the old saying a good big un will always beat a good little un ... Not 100'% true has its been proved wrong on the odd occasion , but is Brook good enough to be that odd occasion .. I DON'T THINK SO .

It is only proven wrong, when the little man is a higher level, more skilled or the bigger man is coming down in weight and draining himself to do so.

Get a grip. On what basis???

Brook's 'world class' opposition and title run consists of scraping past midget Shawn Porter.

He's not even proved himself to be the best in his division yet he can jump 2 weight classes and KO the champions immediately

I think you need to think before you press the keys on your key board with your finger. As most people remember, when Eubank jr was supposed to fight Golokin, nobody gave him a chance, yet he was so close to beating Saunders, due his posing and letting rounds slip, many believe that Brook is more talented then Eubank jr. Brook is going up 2 weight divisions to challenge Golokin, when the other world champions at middleweight are avoiding him, that says a lot, also Brook is in one of the best divisions and a world champion, which he won away from home against Porter, who recently pushed Thurman very close, the guy you call a midget, who used to fight at middleweight.

I think there have been rare occasions where some intrinsic attribute has caused the bigger man problems. Unless, unlike me, you class something like a faster jab as a skill? Your definition doesn't account for Frazier beating Ali, for example.

Good post. The same midget Porter who beat middleweight champ Daniel Jacobs and was the last man to beat Demetrius Andrade.

Last American maybe?

Andrade turned pro after a Korean fighter beat him in the Olympics, and I think his loss before that was against a Brazilian in the Pan American Games.

Ali and Frazier were both Heavyweights mate and having a faster Jab is a skill, an example is Leonard/Hagler and my example of weight drained is Dela Hoya/Pacman.

scraping the barrel when we're having to bring up amateur records jesus :D

If that's the case i'm getting hold of little Tommy Rangley from Halifax who schooled Brook in the junior ABA's 15 years ago, by your train of thought he's next in line to fight the lineal middleweight champ after Brook gets banjoed

I didn't say otherwise (although i still don't think you could confidently make that claim given that this will be the first time he's jumping up TWO weight divisions - know one knows how he'll hold a shot/if he'll have any power to trouble much bigger men/whether the extra weight will dull his great athleticism or reflexes)

Anzi claimed Brook would KO every other middleweight champ - Jacobs/Saunders, even Eubank, Quillan, Lee etc might not be a murderers row but are all big men at the weight, experienced and capable.
To confidently say Brook jumps 2 weight divisions and smashes them all is just ludicrous.

Would anyone have even considered that to be possible before the fight with Golovkin was announced??

A Middleweight Amateur in Jacobs, who happens to be a Pro Middleweight champion of the world, hence my point ? Why don't you just admit that you are wrong and move on, instead of digging a deeper hole for yourself.
