115-112 Barrett on my card, was by far the better boxer throughout, Cardle did look the stronger but he couldn't land in anything but spurts, obviously the 2 KDs made it closer on the cards, Cardle stepped on Barrett's feet for the 1st KD but he did land a right hand so I can see how it was scored, the 2nd KD was a legit bodyshot although he did push him down, i only scored the 5th round 10-9 for Cardle as he was dominated in the round before and after he put Barrett down

Cardle just needs to accept despite his amateur pedigree he's not a boxer, he has good footwork but his defence is non excistent, he's more effective when he makes it ugly but he doesn't do it enough, he stalks whilst eating jabs and Barrett had him eating left hands all night, no matter how Cardle chooses to fight he will always cut open because his skins like paper mache

Credit to Barrett he done what a lot of Cardle's oppnents have been threatening to do and eventually handed him a loss, he looks a tidy boxer, doesn't look strong or carry power but skilful enough to win domestically

Enjoyed that fight. Barrett deserved it and Cardle was due to lose (although I didn't expect it to happen tonight).

Nice to see a supposed easy defence backfire in Cardle and Gallaghers face. They should have taken the Campbell and Dodd 3 fights but nooo.

As much stick as Gallagher and Cardle will get one thing I will add is that I would much rather see British fighters like Barrett given a chance on sky at the British title than fighters from Argentina contesting for WBC bronze titles.

At least Cardle has contested British title fights rather than idiots padding his record.

Not facing a patsy on debut, looks rather damned good and exciting, in a 6 rounder to begin things...every decent amateur should be debuting in a bout like this!

The judging tonight seemed to be more plausible than what we normally get against a south american etc

Had a rant with my mate yesterday about how the art of good matchmaking seems to be disappearing on TV shows.

To many fighters are not put in fights where they will actually learn and improve as a result of them

Good to see a good debut opponent for Kelly here.

Also REAL credit to Byrne, he's realised that he can't outbox Kelly but refused to just give up and accept a loss, he's tried to rough Kelly up, and never given up and accepted a loss! He's covered up and continued to try and fight back...

Agreed we need more competitive opponents like byrne when i seen he went pts with cash knew he would be decent

Usually too much emphasis on getting a highlight reel KO rather than actually learning.

I like the look of Kelly good luck to him.

Would mind is Charlie "shat it from Andrew Selby twice" Edwards lost. But butcher looked terrible at the weight.

I have rated Edwards in the past but the decision to fight Casimero was just stupid

If there isn't much talent in the lower weights in the UK...send them overseas for some bloody high quality sparring!

I remember watching Edward's IBF title shot. He was completely out of his depth that night. No idea how he landed that fight. This looks much more like his level.

I've said this for ages. I know you are the lower weight guy but the likes of Edwards even Selby should be going to Japan or Thailand for a solid month.
