Given the capacity and fact it has a roof I can see a lot of Joshua’s uk fights taking place there. Wembley and the other English stadiums will only be realistic for Summer dates.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 13:35wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 12:58 Joshua-Parker: Principality Stadium in Cardiff Confirmed Site - http://www.BS.com/joshua-parke ... te--124096If true
Does this now mean he will no longer be the lineal champion (that has never defended his belts).wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 10:30yep, its dragging on abit now. Needs to get signed and announced.
Ring Magazine could potentially be on the line also.
Sadly I think the opposite is true.KiwiRider wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 14:42 Well, it looks like it all go. Thursday will be the official announcement.
In order to sell this, I expect Eddie will put together a decent undercard. Here's hoping anyway.
Parker has been underwhelming enough to deserve a decent undercard to sell the PPV. That to me is the main thing to look out for now.
Lineal and Ring are still 2 different things. TBH, he isn't recognised as the lineal by TBRB.. probably due to inactivity. Assuming he gets active asap, he may regain that position.nitro5912 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 14:10Does this now mean he will no longer be the lineal champion (that has never defended his belts).wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 10:30yep, its dragging on abit now. And all the facebook experts who have turned his close win v wlad into a Floyd masterclass will stop banging on about it?
How great must it be to be a lineal champ of 2 succesions.
Yeh, Crolla vs Linares I was for the vacant title. Didn't know the Ring ranked Crolla highly at the time. Hearn may have pushed them to it because he was trying to build it as a unification fight. Also Linares held the WBC Diamond belt.wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 12:55Linares/Crolla had the RING magazine title on the line if I'm not mistaken...
For sure AJ can put the bums on seats, I was thinking more of selling the PPV outside the UK. He wants to promote AJ and Matchroom USA into America. My optimistic side had me thinking he may put something to appeal to the Americans besides monter truck battles.dirk2686 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 14:54Sadly I think the opposite is true.KiwiRider wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 14:42 Well, it looks like it all go. If Joshua can shift over 70k tickets for a nobody opponent and a poor undercard then a unification world title fight, even against an opponent as poor as Parker, will do the same.
Calzaghe and Haye held it. (10 years ago)..
As per their own rules Fury should have been stripped of the ring magazine belt many months ago.wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 10:30yep, its dragging on abit now. Needs to get signed and announced.

Certainly hope so. It’s a great venue, pisses over Wembley as it’s bang in the city centre.jameswilson wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 14:05Given the capacity and fact it has a roof I can see a lot of Joshua’s uk fights taking place there. You're probably right, although the novelty will wear off soon enough and good cards will be required. Hearn would be wise to put those cards on before it feels a bit same old same old. The main event was crap last time out, as was the chief support. The only fight on that card that you could have called anything like a 50/50 was Buglioni vs Johnson and that was cancelled.dirk2686 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 14:54Sadly I think the opposite is true.KiwiRider wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 14:42 Well, it looks like it all go. To be fair, he did schedule in that time. So i'm guessing that particular rule would restart when the fight was called off.
They only show the Joshua fights on US tv. Don't even mention the undercard.KiwiRider wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 15:02For sure AJ can put the bums on seats, I was thinking more of selling the PPV outside the UK. For wembley you habe to get into london tjen on the right tube to end up one of the 3 tubes nearby. It has very few bars and pubs near it, so you end up on wembley way paying a fortune for food.
In cardiff, tou get the train to cardiff central and it is right in town, so there are plenty of pubs and bars, plus all the normal food outlets so saves you a bit of cash.
If the undercard is underwhelmimg, you can stay outside in a nearby pub, whereas at wembley the vast majority of fans will be insife by the 2nd to last undercard fight.
The views are much better too, as the Millennium is a lot more compact - its upper tier sits right over the middle tier, whereas Wembley just expands outwards. The top tier of Wembley feels miles away from the pitch.Taansend wrote: ↑09 Jan 2018, 07:35Gotcha. Thanks Mate. Feels dangerous at wembley if your pissed hanging over the rails to help hang a flag over the side. But agree ive sat on the lower tier right at the front for football, about halfway up for froch v groves, and on the top tier twice for football. Never again will i go top tier as it is poor view even for football. God knows what they saw at the boxingBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑09 Jan 2018, 08:02The views are much better too, as the Millennium is a lot more compact - its upper tier sits right over the middle tier, whereas Wembley just expands outwards.
