Louis had no fear of Walcott's power.. Walcott had a 45% KO ratio. Walcott couldn't even get Johnny Allen out -- at 11-14-1 Allen lost more fights than he won and had been knocked out 4 times already... Walcott was making his 40th pro fight but lost a decision to Allen.

Louis was old and easy to tag.. Walcott got him with 2 nice left hooks as they traded shots.. They rocked Louis that it.. Louis hit back much harder and knocked Walcott out for one of his several KO defeats.. Not the strongest chin there either.

Schmeling and Marciano were much better punchers than Walcott.. When they hit Louis good he was KO'd... Louis was knocked down a dozen times and he was never noted for having a great chin... Some even thought him a bit chinny.

Dempsey did have a good chin... He didn't have a stellar defense and absorbed some massive shots.
Do you think you were a better fighter than Walcott?

i was surprise to max baer not list in the top five . joe lois hitting him was like driving bricks into a wall into he was really known.....he just sat shown again the bomber. just all top heavy weights of his era.y

this is my first post in a long time. i thought i'd write something obvious and nothing controversial.

nice to be back...
