But prior to that, he was giving Groves plenty to think about and it was very entertaining.
I'd like to see more of Jamie, albeit down at 160lb if possible.
That is exactly how I saw it. I know plenty of people don't agree but I suppose we all view things differently.

Hope it's Cox vs AJ. On the cobbles there's only one winner.

Body shots like what he took are lethal
Jamie was fighting well up until that point
Won't be the last we see of him

Martin murray would seem like a easy fight to make. Both Hearn I think. Both fought at middle and super middle so weight shouldn't be an issue. Murrays a fringe contender so would be an obvious test of where he really is.
I'd probably favor murray.

That would be a good matchup however Iβd see that as a 60/40 in Cox favour as Murray has been in a number of gruellers over the years

yeah I wonder if Murray's willingness to cover up wouldn't invite lots of agression from Cox, which I'm not sure Murray would be busy enough to offset.

Be great to see. I think Murray seems to wear well, groves couldn't stop him so he could take into deep waters.

cox threads are informative. you can see who keeps buying into hype jobs regardless of evidence.
jamie cox:
-31
-best win: unimpressive decision over blown up lewis taylor? a gift over jmw obadai sai years ago?
-only 13 stoppages in 25 fights despite being touted as a serious banger who will simply overwhelm durable opponents
-his one good opponent kod him in 3.5 rounds.
BUT
of course as mentioned, he only got stoped by the greatest punch ever thrown in boxing history . of course it mustve been a tremendous shot if it halted our jamie

Cox v Murray would be very interesting. I think I would favour Cox, but wouldn't feel confident in saying that.

Murray vs Cox would be an interesting fight. Definitely the kind of fight Cox needs.
Murray by late stoppage for me.

I thought the announcement was due yesterday? My guess, eddie had a shit Latvian lined up - took a glance at the 'where now for Jamie cox' thread, saw that the people had spoken and were unanimous in the desire for the Murray fight and he's now moving heaven and earth to give the people what they want.
Β£20ppv.

Even at this stage of his career, Murray is a level above Cox.
Cox still unproven at domestic level.

What makes Murray so good? yes he takes a good shot but does that mean his above domestic level because any time his gone above his got beat. Cox would beat him easy imo

Maybe not every time lol but really don't rate Murray, done well for someone who looks pretty limited on the eye

How many wins does Cox have at domestic level, let alone above it? Cox might be as good as his supporters believe, or Murray might be getting on a bit, but right now all that we know is that Murray has the better record.

can't argue with that statement tbf, however i just don't rate Murray and his not beat anyone that i don't think Cox wouldn't beat. and it seems like Cox has a few die hard fans on here but i'm not one of them just do rate him

Was doing very well against GG

your right to look at his record and ask what makes murray so good. i mean he doesnt exactly have wins over ferenc albert or fidel rios, or a 3.5 round ko loss in his only fight with a solid opponent. clearly cox should be ranked way higher by every metric.

ya, did okayish in those 3 rounds he completed. he actually proved he was better than groves and would've won if it wasnt for that flukey, greatest body punch of all time landing
i jest though. i just cant see how someonecan have proved so much to certain ppl by doing so little. lewis taylor , an english level mw, may be coxs win and the 2nd best hes ever fought. if he really is as good as you believe hes been an utter waste of talent.

The cult of Jamie Cox is bizarre. No disrespect to the guy, but his record is extremely weak and he got stopped early the only time he stepped up a level. Where does this fearsome reputation come from?
Iβd certainly like to see him against Murray though, that would be very interesting and a good indicator of where Cox really is.

Yeah, exactly. Murray isn't going to be on any P4P rankings, but he's been a solid operator in and around World Title level for a while now. If Cox was to turn him over in some style, as some people seem to think, he'd prove he was at that level. As it stands, he's like some kind of mythical creature.
