Bruno v Tyson, I even bought into the hype, a late night too

Haye v Enzo wasnt a late nigjt, but I was working on the door and did a bunk to see it!
I still think he could have won if he landed first, and ultimately thos figjt ruined him.

I stayed up late for that too, with no regrets, we saw a Lewis masterclass albeit against a very faded champion.

Tyson was beyond shot at that point but that hype had me remembering the good old days.. should have known better

It was the first boxing PPV Sky ever did, wasn't it? Didn’t they have a UK card (with Naz on??) first and then switch to the US afterwards?

Yeah that was it, but there was a big gap between the British card ending and the Tyson fight. They showed some of the American undercard, I can't remember who but it was tedious

Yes, fight 2 was pathetic; moreover, Bruno was pathetic & made Tyson look a lot better than he actually was at that time.

He literally soiled himself on the way to the ring & boxed like he'd never boxed in his life.

im not sure it ruined him, he just couldnt hold a shot and i think in reality was a euro level fighter. he actually boxed pretty well for stretches in a number of fights after that and didnt really seem timid but the chin let him down a lot of the time. vs a top level puncher like cruiser haye he was always getting splattered imo and he wasnt near the level of the top cruisers today either imo

He's lucky he boxed when he did. In today's era, he'd never be world champion.

well and guillermo jones destroyed braithwaite in 4. good win for enzo but hardly see that as some excellent result that shows he was ruined after haye beat him. how so? i just dont really see that he was superior before that

enzo overachieved if anything. he couldnt hold a shot well as swaby exposed, and then moving to euro level fighters and beyond wasnt good enough to consistently avoid being caught. i remember him boxing well vs frenkel and ola and clearly winning,but then each time it just took a shot or two and that was that

enzo got his world title in with early wbo type stuff

I think I'm going to regret staying up for Crawford vs. Horn.

I'd prefer to watch LSC vs. Mares, but it hasn't been picked up yet I think

I didn't watch that live. I had an exam a few days after that, and didn't fancy staying up late as the next night I'd have been too knackered to do much revision.

I always regretted not staying up. Felt like an event, even if the fight itself wasn't the best.

Kinda like missing May-Pac or May-Mac.. Like you said, it's not just a boxing match. It's an event.

To be fair, I did miss Mayweather vs Mcgregor. Deliberately. I get that it was an event, but it felt like the event was a circus. A Boxer vs Non-Boxer. I just didn't feel it.

I watched Mayweather vs Pac, of course. Like Lewis vs Tyson, one fighter was far past his best, and it was obvious who was going to win. But it was, at least, two boxers. Not the self-proclaimed GOAT vs a debutant.

We watched it live, on E’s. The householder fell asleep and someone robbed the ppv money we’d all chipped in and another friend pissed his setee. He was fuming when he woke up. Tried throwing everyone out, but my cousin negotiated us being allowed to stay until the pub opened.

I bet no one regrets staying up for Joshua-Ruiz

Never forget convincing my mate to stay up to watch Mayweather v Sosa (?) on sky as I was telling him how great Mayweather was. He hasn’t spoken to me since. That was in 2003.

Nah, Im on me hols in sunny benidorm and got to sleep at 6am, felt like a sack of shite the next day doing stuff with the kids, but was a great watch and well worth it. Had to be the strangest night of boxing I've seen in a long while.
