Very easy to hit though, I think he'd get iced - Deontay can seriously hit, and with those ridiculously long arms he's a right handful.

Wilder could KO anyone if he lands. He can also be KO'd himself.

All wilder has is that power

Great equaliser/ender

But you need more than a big shot to cut the mustard, get to the top and stay there

Wilder is the biggest ducker in boxing

He is fighting Tyson early because he believes he isn't fit after a long lay off

He also knew Ortiz would probably gas if he ran away until the second half of the fight

I know Fury is saying the fight with Wilder is more or less a done deal, but I still not convinced the fight will happen anytime soon.

The Fury pre the lay off would have had difficulty avoiding one of Wilders big swings - and the contemporary version of Fury has not shown anything to suggest he is anything as good as he was back then.

Lots discredit Mike Tyson’s reign as being overhyped because of the poor heavyweights around at that time - although today’s heavyweights are far far worse.

Joshua is a fight-by-numbers carbon copy of Bruno; Wilder just swings those long arms of his, and Fury is .. well he is all on his own!

There is no skill or even much talent in the top heavies today.

Joshua is better than Bruno. He’s a handful for almost any heavyweight in history no doubt. If Joshua improves, and I think he can, he could reign for a while.

If Wlad hadn't made the mistake of thinking AJ would not recover and would continue to weaken then he would be exactly like Bruno - a box by the numbers guy who was chinned when he stepped up a class.

The guys AJ had beaten pre-Klit were no better than what Bruno had been bowling over himself.

Joshua has size - but very limited skill.
To be fair to him he probably has enough skill for the guys around today .. although his skill level is embarrassing to those from yesteryear.

I know the big guys can only fight what’s in their era - and today’s heavyweight era is without doubt the worse I have ever known, or read about.

How total rubbish like Joshua, Wilder and Fury can be regarded as the top guys is unbelievable .. but true. The big guys just don’t take up boxing anymore.

Wlads chance came and went in the 6th ( if that’s the round he knocked Johshua down in ) imo. It’s not like he didn’t throw another punch for the rest of the fight either.
Joshua came out the next round and was telling Wlad as much, he was taking whatever Wlad threw and actually telling him he was going to beat him. There’s plenty of dog in Joshua.

Guess people see it differently. No version of Bruno would have come through what Joshua did and won that fight.

People forget how few fights Joshua actually had at that point too. It was impressive, just as impressive as Fury beating Wlad. They did it two different ways. Both were close competitive fights ( despite the myth Fury completely outclassed Wlad ) one was boring, the other entertaining, I enjoyed both, mainly because the fighters I wanted to win, won!

Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll see prime Fury v prime Joshua. Tyson’s prime has probably been and gone, Joshua’s is to come. That’s just how it goes.

He didn't throw anywhere enough after that, Joshua was absolutely knackered for at least another round after he was put over - Wlad just couldn't overcome his natural reticence to go for the finish unless his man is completely rendered helpless, and was too wary of the power.

Bruno would have been smashed to bits by Wlad in that fight, I'm sorry, I like Frank, but he just couldn't overcome adversity of that magnitude. He would have been trapped in a corner and pummelled until the bell went. Poor frank just didn't seem to be able to fall down when he was in trouble.

Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll see prime Fury v prime Joshua. Tyson’s prime has probably been and gone, Joshua’s is to come. That’s just how it goes.

Wlad had punched himself out before against Brewster of course, he didn’t want to run that risk again perhaps.

You are misunderstanding me mate, I am not saying is not proving to be better than Bruno, but that Wlad dropped the hammer and taken him out (as he would have IMO if he had pressed matters hard), then that is how things would be viewed. You only know he can come back from adversity because he did and he did because Wlad allowed him to.

well tbf, about 30 of those fights were absolute sh!t. running up wins over the liks of jess oltmans and damon mcreary means nothing. jason gavern was his 32nd opponent and at that time hed fought pretty much no one.

his title career has been much better, at least a few fringe contenders and a top 5 contender in ortiz. hes legit world class, but for all his fights and years pro i think he only proved himself very recently. if he lost to ortiz i could understand people saying that hed been found out, at least as not being an elite top tier hw despite all the wins, etc

because notice that guys like washington, szpilka, molina, etc are getting easily beaten by a bunch of others too. its beating ortiz that mainly gives him seperation from the other guys out there , apart from aj, who clearly has accomplished more

2015 Fury's the new '88 Tyson.

It feels to me that one of the reasons for Fury's comeback is that enough time has passed to fall back on the old wouldn't-have-beaten-me-in-'15 line. But he's still in his prime, and to say otherwise is probably making excuses. If he's as good as he says, he should fight and beat Wilder this winter. Good luck to him if he does.

Fingers crossed it happens. Wilder KOs Fury, who then hangs up his gloves but AJ KOs Wilder to be HW King of the ring.

Tyson vs Wilder won't be a thriller. Fury isn't going to let Wilder land a big punch cleanly. It is not in his DNA. If you separate out all the talk, from what Fury does in the ring, you can see that Fury will go in there to win on points, and he'll win enough rounds to do so. It won't be a wild brawl it will be boring, anti-climatic, and Wilder's limitations will become clear. Fury will outbox him, take almost no risks, and come away with the decision.

Agreed - Fury will try to make it ugly and steal it on points ... but he won’t avoid one of those crude swings; and he won’t even see it coming.. lights out for Fury!
