Yeah I was convinced Selby would hammer him (admittedly with a bit of regional bias) but I definitely won’t be writing off Warrington again.THEBUTCH wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 10:01 Warrington was simply brilliant against Selby. I'm just not sure he can do it twice on the trot, but I hope he can because he converted a lot of opinions with performance against Selby.
The only pundits/boxing media who said Warrington would win were Alan Hubbard and John Rawling.

The interesting aspect for me will be how he takes Framptons power. Selby is a skilled boxer, but obviously not the biggest hitter out there.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 15:40Yeah I was convinced Selby would hammer him (admittedly with a bit of regional bias) but I definitely won’t be writing off Warrington again.THEBUTCH wrote: ↑14 Dec 2018, 10:01 Warrington was simply brilliant against Selby. Frampton has more of a class. I see him outboxing Warrington handily.
Re: Josh Warrington vs. Carl Frampton - 22 December 2018
frampton really hasnt had many convincing wide performances vs solid opponents though has he. id think better chance he wins close then lopsided, seems like even though hes still managed to win even at a high level he doesnt always really widely seperate himself

Gonna end a majority or split:: maybe even a draw.
Re: Josh Warrington vs. Carl Frampton - 22 December 2018
I think Frampton is going to get old overnight. Warrington is in the ascendancy and the Jackal is a bit well thumbed and creased around the spine.
SD for Josh.

It will be a close one for sure. I think Frampton is still at his peak. He lost to LSC close.. the near year out and leaving Cyclone didn’t help but he looks more settled now.
Unless they slug it out and test chins, I doubt we’ll see a KD never mind a Stoppage.

Warrington in a decision. Competitive fight for first half and Frampton wears out the back half of the fight.

I think Warrington sets a high pace and I'm not so sure Frampton can keep up with Warrington working from the outside, taking advantage of his height and reach advantage. IMHO.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 13:03Why would Frampton wear out in 2nd half? He’s a standard 12 round fighter.

Id like to see Gary Russell jnr give him a whooping. I used to like Frampton, but I followed him on social media, and found him to be quite an unpleasant guy.

Out of all the people that have fought Lomachenko, he's probably one of the very few that actually didn't get completely embarrassed.

Frampton is quality, but his best days are gone. Warrington is the one ascending, and I don't think Frampton can live with the pace Warington will set.
The last few rounds are going to be the ones that decide it. I fancy Warrington. He's too fresh.

Carl Frampton and allegedly differ on post-Warrington plans
A win might not be enough for Carl Frampton [26(15)-1(0)] if he wants to have massive Stateside scraps in 2019.
‘The Jackal’ challenges IBF featherweight champion Josh Warrington [27(6)-0] this Saturday night in Manchester and he wants to pick up the world title belt, his fourth, and move straight into unifications.
However, his promoter, allegedly, does not seem to be keen on this path whatsoever.
The English fight boss, who also promotes Warrington, has reiterated his desire for Saturday’s BT Sport Box Office and ESPN+ clash to be a close one to facilitate another money-spinning domestic pay-per-view between the pair, potentially at a football stadium.
While doing some fight week promotional work with BT Sport, Warren was asked about the potential for unification fights for the winner.
The Queensberry boss shut down the question, noting that “it depends on how the loser loses, because he’s going to be back in the ring.”
“It may be, which I really believe it’s going to be, a great fight that deserves an immediate rematch.”
“Who knows?” he asked, which suggests that a fight which is in any way competitive will result in calls for a repeat.
Frampton, though, is not keen on being bogged down in a series of fights with Warrington.
When asked by BT Sport whether he would consider a rematch, Frampton replied “not really, after this fight I don’t want to fight anyone other than Santa Cruz, Valdez or Russell Jr.”
Speculation is mounting that Frampton could be set for a return to Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions endeavour, the home of Santa Cruz and Russell, now that the outfit have a big deal with British terrestrial broadcaster ITV, with a recent PBC interview fuelling this talk.
This, however, remains idle social media and boxing forum chat at present, and Frampton is more concerned about setting these fights up.
Considering Warren’s words, the 31-year-old may need to stop or thoroughly dominate Warrington – or else exert control over his career in the face of a rematch-hungry promoter.
Frampton outlined how “I want to win this fight against Warrington, then unify the division and then maybe have a crack at the big boys.”
“I have spoken about potentially moving up to super-featherweight – I want to be remembered as a great fighter and winning fights in three divisions."

Sounds like W arren needs some cash. Who pushes a rematch before they've even had the first fight?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Dec 2018, 08:28 Carl Frampton and allegedly differ on post-Warrington plans

Re: Josh Warrington vs. Carl Frampton - 22 December 2018
Everything is build on rematches. Promoters cry rematch even when there has been a clear winner. it's bit boring. Sometimes an immediate rematch isn't needed..
Frampton wanted a 3rd straight fight after losing to LSC.. I was sick off it by then.. I wouldn't mind it down the line or in the next year.. Don't need the same fights shoved down our throats..
Frampton clearly wants to move on after this..
I do think it will be a close fight and close on the cards, where scorecards will be split.. Some will cry robbery again regardless of who wins the close fight, everyone scores the fights in different ways.
Carl is already thinking of going back to PBC.. He could be on ITV very soon.
