Agree. Golden boy know how to pick them.
Even though Rocky Fielding was overmatched and hand-picked by GBP to lose... and lose spectacularly, the Brit was a much better opponent than Vanes Martirosyan.
You silly boy. Unable to see the factors surrounding that choice of opponent. What an easy world you live in when everything is black or white.

I know I love boxing and I know I don't love Canelo, so something is amiss.
For some reason that beast needed help from judges twice in his two previous fights, and then he destroyed a mediocre paper title holder and now we are supposed to fall in love with him?

I'd wager he was up about 50-32 on the cards at the stoppage.

I don't even agree with the statement itself. From what we saw, Rocky is no better than Vanes. His best career achievement is the split decision over John F*cking Ryder.

Sorry that the night didn't live down to your expectations and crushed dreams.

Don't you think it's time to grow up and embrace the Canelo Era??

You're really out of step with what's happening today.

Man, Fielding had an awful gameplan, if he had any. I think I said it here or on another forum, but his in-fighting is garbage from what I've seen. He slaps with his punches too much and is a frail, weak guy. He chose to stand on the inside and trade with an expert, stronger man. Completely ridiculous.

Is someone seriously saying Rocky is better than Vanes!? Ridiculous statement. Vanes could've easily had a win over Charlo when they fought. It was a razor close fight and Vanes got the shaft for allowing it to be a 10 rounder for a belt. He also gave Andrade and Lara tough fights. His draw to Lara is better than anything Rocky has ever done.

You guys sound so foolish and butt hurt by constantly trying to discredit Canelo Alvarez' skills.

It's like trying to argue that the sun isn't bright.

He wins and wins. He can outbox you. He can outpunch you. Big or small, he beats you. Body or head, he hurts you.

And all I hear is the predictable and very tired "Uh, he's a bum. The fights are fixed. Oscar pays the judges. Canelo is a cheat and should be banned."

Go and drool over Tyson Fury fighting with hands behind his back. Or Lomachenko giving flashy angles. Or Golovkin eating punches.

I prefer to watch a fighter who can do all in the ring. Probably the smartest, tactician out there today. Cold as ice and deadly.

When Canelo beats Jacobs and either Charlo sister, and then decides to bounce around Triple Gigi again just for fun, you'll still find flimsy reasons to ridicule his success.

The envy and jealousy over this amazing athlete boggles the mind.

But as they say "Success and wealth always breeds contempt."

There are just some things anyone sane wouldn't argue. You don't compare a world-level fighter at 154 to a domestic level 168'er. Fielding is European level at his best. Vanes was world level in his prime at 154.

Like the announcer was saying, he should have used his height and jab to try to stay at a distance, but that's not his style. He was winging in good punches, but he didn't have enough power behind them. Bad mismatch. Everyone knew it before the fight. Well, almost everyone. I see 5 guys picked Fielding to win.

- Big Canelo fan, but agree that was too easy.

Still, fighting 3 months after back to back Golovkin fights is impressive not to mention becoming the highest paid athlete in all sports. Yet Rocky was smiling when the ref waved it off.

Maybe Rocky froze in the spotlight, but good news is Canelo has an open date in May at MGM with no shortage of willing opponents.

Why don’t we have a discussion relating to the comparison between the resumes of Fielding and Martirosyan based on their accomplishments during the 3½ years prior to their respective bouts against Canelo and GGG? :TU:

This is going to be an extremely easy one-sided debate for me to win! :yay:

Come on, I dare you! Let’s see what you can do? :box:

Golovkin's team only had like 2-3 weeks to find an opponent before the fight date because of Canelo's drug test fail. GB had all the time in the world since September to find Canelo a decent opponent. Nobody denied that Martirosyan was opponent (including GGG team), but they still wanted to fight someone to not waste a long training camp and give ppl a show.
