thats the best move for him at the moment i think, then maybe get mandated to fight aj for full title
its true watching him that i get the 'needs to quickly get that big fight before taken out' vibe

Joyce can't box for the WBA Regular until Oqendo has had his crack?
Charr won it over a year ago so could be stripped to make Joyce v Oquendo I suppose.

i thought id read now that the wba feels since oquendo turned down the last fight with charr the wba doesnt feel obliged any longer to oquendo, though not sure how that plays legally, i suppose if its more fuss they could just say fres fights the winner of charr-joyce

Oquendo didn't sign for the Charr fight so I think that nulls the court order from long ago.

If it's Delboy next, that could be a problem for Joyce.

I don't understand the grief Joyce gets, if you watched him at the World Championships/Olympics you know his style of boxing is slightly methodical but it does the job.

Also can be discouraging if you keep hitting a guy bang on the Chen and he just laughs and continues to bundle forward and throw lots and lots of very, very slow yet hurtful punches at you.

I think he’s a fun fighter,I enjoy watching him in general

don’t think he gave a great account of himself vs stiverne, but generally I like watching him plough forward and apply pressure

one of the boxers, think it might’ve bin Michael conlan put on Twitter he’s the real life rock em sock em robot
But I think it’s plain to see he is not very skilled, there’s interesting fights out there for him though

fully agreed pal, Michael Conlan crack me up ! - I am not convinced by Abel Sanchez's style its one thing asking a 160lb to plough forward compared to 260lb (inviting a concussion)

I’m not convinced either, seems rather a one trick pony with his game plans for Joyce

The real test would be if a BJS-esque boxer went to train with Abel what will happen - as a coach does he have the presence of mind to use his tools or turn him into a plough forward merchant haha!

He's entertaining and moving quickly, he's just not a championship caliber fighter.

Just got home, and got to watch this fight. Very good showing by Joyce. He's fun as hell to watch. Showed a good chin too as Stiverne landed some real solid rights in the 1st, but Joyce took 'em well. I definitely look forward to seeing a lot more of Joyce. You gotta figure his flaws will catch up to him against the Elite guys, but win or lose he'll be fun to watch almost always I'd imagine given the way he fights. I'm a fan.
Despite all the negativity Joyce gets, I do believe he has champion abilities. Solid chin, high volume punches, and good power. Just after 8 fights, you can see he is already better than 97% of the heavyweights out there. I'm sure in the next 2 years, he will get a title shot at some fringe belt holder ( Charr?? ), and will be victorious.

Of course Joyce can win the WBA regular title. Not a very high bar though.

Good matching really, a low risk opponent and now Joyce is in line for at least an interim shot.

Joyce will be fully exposed if he steps up to top 15 ranked HW's. He hasn't come close to being tested yet. He's slow; wide open; one-dimensional; and hasn't shown anything but a slow plodding, but high output approach. His wide punches plus his slow delivery make him an easy mark for a decent boxer.

While I agree with his limitations, and I still believe he is made for Usyk, his size, strength, awkwardness and output will make him difficult to beat.

Are you talking about top 15 within the ranking bodies or top 15 as in the 15 best heavyweights? Either way, Joyce isn't much, but he's already top 15.

Overall. Within sanctioning bodies the top 15 gets too watered down.
