I didn't see this "event" but your score seems pretty much in line with what many media reports had it. 3-2 either way with most siding with Malignaggi.

It seems at odds with the frequent view here that Malignaggi did nothing and was never in the fight.
I don't know who thinks that way, but anyone that does, knows nothing about boxing.

I’m not sorry at all. It was a very restful nap.

Says a biased person whose forum moniker is named after a folk hero of ancient Russia.

Is it surprising to see a die-hard fan of Russian fighters support a fellow Russian?

With bare Knuckle the fists become blades and even light punches can open nasty wounds. Also broken bones in hands are frequent. I think people will tire of bkb.

And then you had the bare knuckle fighters doing grotesque things to toughen up their hands like soaking them in gasoline and other things.

So then should I lie and say that I thought PM won? I really didn't have dog in the fight. PM seems more interesting than my Russian or Irishman or whatever he's billing himself as. In fact the whole so called sport disgusts me.

The president of BKB got on the mic and told the crowd he was withholding a fighters purse for not being aggressive enough at a previous event. Aggression is one of the main things they’re looking for and I doubt they care much about the effectiveness of it if it’s a clear case of one fighter being way more active.

Another good reason for me to avoid that circus troupe.

Agreed.

I was shocked to see Paulie descend to that.
I thought he was better than that.

I doubt it will last long. The entire concept is predicated around fast and furious brawls, hence the shorter rounds. But fighters understand that winning gets them more earning opportunities so guys still end up trying to find the path of least resistance

It never should be the way.

Why give a fighter credit for throwing a thousand punches if he's unable to land any?

Punches landed and their effectiveness should be the sole criteria in scoring a bout, whether in traditional boxing or last night's bastardized version.

That is true, but if both fighters throw 10 punches per round, nobody will want to watch that even if they are landing 80% of them. Aggressiveness needs to be rewarded.

Could'nt care less about who won , for me it was a shite fight , no better than half the gypsy fights on u tube , no better no worse , ,

But the main thing i think is Pauly , just prostituted himself for a couple of dollars and some tv time , he's 38 , his skill level is NO WHERE near what it was , he looked like a old ex boxer having a street fight with a young tough guy from the opposite gang , , In his hey day , big puncher or not that guy would'nt of landed on him . Pauly in his hey day would of boxed his ears off , whats next , he gonna go to the circus and box a dwarf

Lackeos wrote: 22 Jun 2019, 17:15 I feel like some people in this thread don't understand how much better boxers are at boxing than Joe Schmoes are. If not for the fact that Malignaggi is probably going to break his hands in the opening seconds, I'd probably place the betting odds around 1:50.

This match-up is like Antonio Tarver vs Kimbo Slice in essentially a boxing match. In the sport of boxing, the gap between top boxers and MMA fighters is huge. Which, btw, Artem Lobov is 13–15–1 in MMA, which is his primary sport. It's not as though Lobov even reached the top 10 in MMA (and even then a #1 MMA fighter generally can't compete with a #40 boxer in a boxing match).

Spot on. I wish there was a bet for Paulie breaking his hands by rounds. I would've won a sum of cast.

I watched it from somebodies stream on facebook. It was a boring fight and as one comment said on FB....I've seen better bar fights. I watched Lobov's last fight and he and the other guy stood toe to toe for 5 rounds and beat the crap out of each other and were bloody messes. I knew Paulie would not fight that way which resulted in a boring fight. I had Lobov winning 3-2. He wanted it more but was not very effective either. Paulie was in it for a payday and for sure won't get one with McGregor. McG would kill him if he could get Paulie to stop running. I'm glad I didn't pay anything to watch the crap fight.

100% including having it score 3/2 for Lobov. My last time watching this stuff. The only good thing is how quick they go from fight to fight.

Frankly I have no idea why you are so rude and aggressive about my view of Malignaggi , Fanboy ?
Yes, I'm a fanboy of am Italian/American boxer who I've watched fight live a whole one time in my life (vs Hatton, which is why).

Not aggressive just pointing out your stupidity. I'll ask again, if Paulie can't commentate because Khan beat him... who did Jim Lampley, Max Kellerman beat?

Just a simple protective wrap to compact the fist. Actual bare knuckle is ridiculous it today’s world.

What did Pauli get paid?

Has McGregor ever mentioned this? No I guess

And let’s give Pauli some credit for getting in there at 38 and having it bare knuckle win or lose.

"Despite my brittle hands (four surgeries on my right hand) I have been able to accomplish more as mainly a one handed fighter than most fighters accomplish with two hands," he posted on social media.

"After two rounds Saturday night I sat in my corner now knowing I would be a one handed fighter for the remainder of this fight and I am proud I continued on and showed myself I still had a willingness to dig deep when faced with adversity."

Malignaggi said "I'm done" after the bout when asked if he would fight again.

"I'm 38-years-old. I'm too old to start campaigning off of a loss."
