He was the biggest PPV draw in boxing history.

Mayweather-Canelo. Mayweather-De La Hoya. Two other bouts that cracked the 2 million buys barrier.

So, it's hardly a matter of American boxing overcoming the Mayweather era.

It was Mayweather's presence that at least kept the sport on life support here.

Without him, it very well may flatline.

Very true! We need an ant-hero to stir things up. Mike Tyson ended up as an Anti-Hero before becoming the guy we wanted to see get beat up and after he was the young polite champ.

this miller fight is fairly mediocre, its actually embarrassing

Exactly. These goons just look at buys like it’s a gauge of love. Most people forked the money over in the hopes to see Floyd lose, not for the hope of watching an inspiring victory by Floyd. That’s VERY different. Floyd just ran with the model that Vince At WWF Wrestling created with his villains. I’m not saying that it didn’t work. Of course it did but each major sport has their box office studs to help sell the product and for like 15 years, the face of Boxing was women batterer and a disgusting human being. How in the world could that not hurt American Boxing? Rhetorical.

The worst part is that Floyd’s the best I’ve ever seen. That’s the saddest part. Never tested himself and didn’t care about the sport at all.

Hearn is now confirming the report and only says that Joshua continues to prepare for a June 1 date.

Maybe Usyk could take a flyer on Takam, and head directly to MSG and Joshua.
