Ah, well, I quite like Hughie but I don’t see him quite as slick as that. If Allen can keep pressing forward he could eventually land. I’d favour Hughie but I think Allen has a decent chance...

I think both Allen and Hughie suck to be honest.
I wouldn't actually be that shocked if Allen wad able to beat Hughie. That's more because of how underwhelmed I am by Hughie more than anything else though.

hughie is underwehlming and at the same time much better and stlyiscally a nightmare for dave allen
allens gotten really overrated lately. conditioning isnt why lenny thomas outslicked him. its not why 4-0 tony yoka absolutely battered him. its not why hes slow or plodding or easy as hell to hit.
and lol suddenly hes a huge hitter!

I would still favour Hughie admitedly. I just wouldn't be shocked if he stuck that place out and lost through lack of action or something in a lot of the rounds.
I remember watching one of his fights and he was throwing his jab out and it wasn't even landing on the gloves. It was hitting air lol.

Well said Jammy, Yoka is the perfect example. Love Dave, but I don't have any expectations of him being competitive against a boxer/mover- especially one as rangey as Huggie.

I actually think Allen could get quite far with careful matchmaking. Boxing someone like hughie Parker or Hunter would be awful for him but he could beat a chisora or a povetkin which would put him top 10, assuming he beats price

Sorry Joel, but Povitkin hits way too hard and Dave is still using his face as his main form of defence.
Allen has a good chin, but it would not stand up to Povitkin's repeated flush hooks.
Chisora on an off night possibly. Even then, Del Boy is a wiley campaigner and I could see him rope-a-doping Dave until coming in for the kill.

pov would have to be well shot, he does everything far better then allen except chin, and contrary to some belief allen isnt suddenly some major banger
allen couldnt handle lenny thomas boxing skills and was a punch bag vs 4-0 yoka. that reveals some serious limitations even if hes 'taking it more seriously'

he has fun fights in his lane. I'd give fury a better chance of stopping him than the other way around.

Price will outbox Allen for long spells I reckon but over the 10/12 round distance I can see Allen catching him with something, as fucked up as it sounds I reckon Allen is the best body puncher in the division, he has next to no competition in that regard mind but I think Allen would do well to make that shot his sort of Get out of Jail card, its a criminally underused punch up at Heavyweight but Allen has a had a few stoppages with that punch, Price has a long body and a suspect gas tank, I reckon Allen and Barker will be looking to exploit that

Aye Ruiz landed some sickeners downstairs on Joshua, Fury a good body puncher as well for a big guy, he doesn't dig them in the same way as Allen though

This is intriguing to me because price hasn’t actually lost to anyone on the level of Allen and he turned in a strong performance against povetkin even in defeat.
However

It’s a fun fight but it’s also a little disturbing to see Price Ko’ed. When he gets knocked out these days it’s usually of the “oh sh!t I hope he’s okay!” variety. I like knockouts but his are a bit sickening. I hope he’s getting a decent purse for this and if he loses here I hope he knocks it on the head.

hes signed for the fight, might as well take it as seriously as possible now. and hes fighting dave allen not deontay wilder. though i know how hot so many ppl have suddenly become on allen. he may get kod again but tbf to him hes never lost at this level before

I wouldn't say I was hot on Allen, just cold on Price. Allen is better with proper camps, but we don't have to rehash that conversation again. He'll KO Price.
