Right, all of you who are NOW suggesting that Ruiz is a decent fighter, good puncher, fast hands etc nail your colours to the mast, how long will he last in the rematch, and when will he next win a fight?
Ruiz is a pretty average fat heavyweight who got lucky because something was wrong either mentally or physically with Joshua. He's not top ten quality and the immediate future will show this.
Wilder and Fury are so far in front of the rest it's embarrassing.
Does anyone think the Fury v Wilder 2 announcement 24 hours before the fight had any impact?
Joshua wasn't himself, of that there is no doubt.
But let's not take anything away from Ruiz, he took Joshua's shots and returned fire every time.
Joshua may well win the rematch in stunning fashion, we will have to wait and see.
But Saturday was Ruiz's night, no one can take it from him. He may not look like a high level sportsman, but that's irrelevant.
AJ looked awful. It was a bizarre performance, he almost looked like a shot fighter. No stamina and his punch resistance was shocking, which considering Ruiz isn't a noted puncher is worrying. There have been rumours for a while that AJ doesn't have a great chin, Dubois dropped him in sparring, but he seemed to answer these questions in the Klitschko fight. If he loses the rematch that would be a disaster and on his performance the other night I wouldn't be confident he would win it. Lets hope Ruiz doesn't do a Buster Douglas and let this win go to his head, if he comes into the rematch in better shape AJ will be in a very hard fight.
Everything about Joshua screamed novice in the fight
Ruiz will beat Joshua again in the rematch, what on earth makes you think there's a time limit on how long Ruiz will last?your going on like the fight was close, like Joshua let it slip through his fingers...not that he got absolutely larruped by the better man
These denial posts about what actually happened are hilarious
Excellent deployment of the rarely seen but always good value "larruped"
I dont buy into the more alarming conspiracy theories doing the rounds, But, the one I do buy into is that AJ had a sh*t training camp & possibly there were elements of the team (Not AJ) who possibly wanted the fight pulled.
Complacency & sh*t training camp seem the most plausible for me.

Nowt like a shock in the boxing world to bring me back to life. I am good my friend, the parkies is worse but it wont stop me loving boxing.
Back to the topic .... whats your take on AJ.
I didn't think he was as good as many thought beforehand and don't think he is anywhere as bad as people are saying now!
Coming back after a KO is always tough, if he can mentally come back he is well capable of beating everyone bar Fury.
But this is boxing, fighters get caught, it happens to everyone other than PBF!
Joshua may well have taken his eye off the prize, suffered under the pressure, but you could see from his body he had trained hard.
The main problem was that he got caught and couldn't recover.
I always said that Ruiz could fight, as he proved against Parker, but he is not elite class.
But my gut feeling is all was not well in the training camp.
Maybe you're right, I really don't know, perhaps that is why his dad was angry afterwards.
Nevertheless you can't get in Joshua's shape if you haven't trained hard.
If things didn't go well in camp it is more likely to have had an impact on his mind.
AJ saying that he didn't feel worn out going into this one for the first time was an alarm bell. That's what you're aiming for in an ideal world, but it's hard to avoid overtraining slightly if you're hungry.
As for everyone knocking out AJ in sparring, maybe there's a bit of truth in that obviously exaggerated rumour and he's suffered cumulative damage without realising it.
Here's an article on that sports psychologist stuff I mentioned earlier.
This rings eerily true with something coneye said earlier, Joshua is like an industry for this team, the whole process they spelled out for this training camp strikes me as an elaborate way for all these professionals to justify and perpetuate their own roles, it sounds like an absolute pile of artificial bullsh1t to me.
1st --- Take nothing away from Ruiz , he was the far better boxer on the night , It really looked like a seasoned pro giving a good novice a touch up .
But then you have to look at AJ , i really don't think, and its always been my thoughts ,that he's has good, as he's been potrayed , good match making ,and even then lucky to have survived a few , .
Then you have to anaylize what went wrong , Coco made a good point he had been training hard you only have to look at him to see that ,
So he's not has good has most thought , but he has the power , and strenght that did'nt go away , and its carried him through in the past .
So what was the problem , seen an interview with Dave Allen , he stated and 100% correctly , what the hell was he doing jabiing from the hip against a smaller boxer with good feet and fast hands ,
Has Aj got the goods to beat Ruiz , course he has , he's got the goods to knock him into next week ,
So what went wrong , myself i think it's been going wrong for a long time , he has stopped boxing training and become a science machine , seriously what trainer would allow there boxer to become this giant robot , i don't know too much about weights , but i do know the weights he's using to become that size are not good for boxing , too big too slow , , and no stamina , . He's been allowed to much freedom to get bigger at the expense of honing his skills and its bit him on the ass .
I think he's a young man a money machine , and started to believe all the hype around him , then when Ruiz did'nt read the script he fell apart ,,,
I really believe his camp are largely to blame , for allowing the boxer to become a body builder and not hone the skills , Its not his trainers job to piss in his ear about what he does well , its the trainers job to analize what he does wrong , and for a while its been evident that
1--- He gets caught to easy , and is shaky when he gets caught ,,, So the trainer should concentrate on defense
2--- He's getting bigger and slower over the years ,---- so the trainer should recognize this and work on speed , and less weight
3 , His skills are not improving too much --- trainer should work on this .
But we hav'nt seen an improvement in any of these areas , we have just watched him get bigger , slower , and chinnier ,, really Ruiz should'nt of got near him , but his lack of a fast jab , and the looming thunderous punches blind freddy could see , made him look like a beginner in with a seasoned pro .
But the biggest problem they have not sorted out is the STAMINA problem , that in itself is ludicrous , the world champion undeafeted boxer , CANNOT go hard for 3 rnds , what the Fook , its terrible , its a piss take , , but its all combined , its down to spending his hrs doing the wrong things , instead of weights he should be in the ring sparring and getting used to being hit , and doing the rnds ,
Can he come back ,,, I think he can
Can he beat Ruiz ,,,, I think he could destroy him ,
Whats it gonna take ,,,,, Get rid of the yes men , the science experts the rowing machines the bullshit methods that are obviously NOT WORKING ,, go train with a small team get in the gym and , do his warm up and then , practice his footwork , his punch dilevery , stop the weights , and box box box and box some more ,,
I'm just not a fan of all this sports science rubbish , , which like i said in a previous post is designed by intellectual sports people , for intellectual sports people in well paid positions .
Basicly if AJ wants to fix his problems , he has to get fitter , faster , develop more of a boxing IQ , hone his skiolls and work on his defence , all doable , and all should off been happenning over the years and its not ,
In fact seen 2 pictures of AJ , on facebook side to side , on the left AJ in 2012 after the olympics , on the right Aj present day ,, too diffent blokes , and shown , he's been spending time developing his monster body and no time developing his skills .
and who is to blame , i would suggest the highly paid team of profesionals that surround him , he needs to get rid and go train with a good old fashioned old school boxing coach
Good post coneye. But let’s be fair, Joshua is a multimillionaire who is used to luxury & the best of everything. It’s hard to see him going back to basics and trying to work on his fundamentals at this stage. He’ll either go back to training in his usual way and get even more musclebound and blast guys out even quicker, or he’ll just retire.

Probably , and you bring up another good point , multi millionaire , coperate machine , its well known AJ has the say , he rules his own destiny and his buisness , with sponsers , this that the other , it must be hard for him to remain focused , .
This would be a big issue has well , employ others to do that and concentrate on BOXING , suppose thats easier said than done
Hearn has come out today on Twitter denying the rumour that Joshua had a panic attack in the changing room immediately before the fight and that he persuaded Joshua to proceed with the fight against Joshua’s dad’s wishes.
Interesting, as Joshua was delayed in leaving the dressing room en route to the ring. Hearn suggested that that was simply down to an innocuous last minute change of groin-protector, which had been ill fitting.

They discussed the delay the night of the fight because of the "body guard" change. So many freakin' rumours.
I've never seen so many excuses by everyone but the man and the team that lost.
Joshua is not throwing out excuses and neither is Hearn.
But the conspiracy nuts keep posting

I think it's hysterical but other posters don't find it so funny. I love the sparring partner that ko'd AJ. First Kabayel who wasn't even in camp, and now Dawejko. It's really crazy. Social Media is a dangerous thing!
