Like Ezzard said upthread, you look at Kov's recent fights & you'd swear he'd get tired one-two'ing a heavy bag for twelve rounds.

I think the weight might help Clenelo's stamina, as well, I have this sneaking suspicion that draining like a motherfucker (which let's face it he's done his entire career) meant he was only able to fight a stretch of a round at a time. I actually think this might be a more "natural" weight for him.

Really hope I'm wrong, like but I think this is going one way.

He never really looked capable of stopping Ggg or Jacobs, so I can't see him giving Kov too much trouble unless he's shot to bits. Yarde is a much much bigger man than Canelo, i suspect Yarde hits much harder too.

If Kov isn't bothered by his shots i think he'll press on for a KO, he hits harder than G and a great finisher.

It's all typical stuff from Canelo. Kovalev was confident enough in his weight to go weigh in with a chain on. He should know this is normal A side snide tricks. The Klitschkos used to play games like this all the time. It's boxing. The game's always rigged in some way.

I hope so - but I can't say I'm hugely confident, without doubt there is a vulnerability about Kovalev that's been very clear in Ward 2, Alvarez 1 (and even 2 to an extent), life and death with Yarde. Originally i picked Canelo,but Kovalev is no fuckn Rocky Fielding and I've swayed round to picking Kov having just enough left to deal with gingerpubes

No, because he's worth too much. Would you be bought for $1m, when that amounts to a lifetime's wage for a lot of people but hardly dents the takings? The smart thing is to only bribe two judges, since that increases the chance of variance and saves money. Supposing Kov's been paid, even, because he's heading for retirement and it's not a legacy fight for him.

Canelo's fans can then claim an ostensibly great victory, at the same time as Kov's fans can say it would've been very different a couple of years ago. No lost pride. All Kov has to do is carry him a little and let it slide on the cards. Judges could even be legit in that case, though that carries a slight risk.

I just don't buy into this as a genuine fight and can't be arsed watching it. It's fitting that Canelo's only loss came from the conditions that he now exploits. Money talks, and I don't just mean Floyd.
