Translated report:

In a fiery atmosphere, the Shkodran boxer Nelson Hysa defeated the British Danny Williams by points in an exciting match.

In the sports palace "Ramazan Njala", in Durrës, the best boxers in the country climbed into the ring, who gave significant performances.

The highlight was the heavyweight duel between Hysa from Shkodra and the British Williams, who in his career defeated the legend Mike Tysone, faced Vitali Klitschko and was able to take out Mark Potter with a broken shoulder.

Hysa was superior in the ring against the Briton, who also landed some hard punches on the Shkodran. At the end of 6 rounds, the 22 times champion of Albania won with a score of 60-54.

After getting acquainted with the decision of the judges, Williams announced his retirement with 54 victories in professional boxing. Meanwhile, this was the fifth victory for Shkodran Hysa in professional boxing, while he aims to climb the most prestigious boxing rings.

A sad day also with the news Mark Potter has passed away after a cancer battle , 22 years ago Danny & Mark boxed for the British title in a bout that we’ll never forget .

I see Boxing News have just posted an open letter to Danny Williams, I can’t view it as you have to subscribe but I’m assuming he hasn’t retired and they are urging him to, anyone read it?

I was thinking that, they must have left by now! Probably doing PhD's!
There’s an interview with him in November 2004, a few months after the Tyson fight, and it says his daughters were 5 and the other was 7 weeks old, so that makes them 23 and 18 now.

I get he may have been paying to send them to private school, which can cost a lot, but if they are at uni they would just get a student loan and pay it back like anyone else would once they start work. But even then he can’t be earning that much having these fights abroad once expenses etc taken out, he only fought once in 2020 and 2021. He must be able to earn more working in security.

My granddaughter started med school in Sept and she is paying her own way with student loans and the money she earned working in McDonalds all the way through her A levels. I paid to put myself through university, doing 20 hours a week at the same time at the 37.5 at uni. I was knackered all the time, but it is possible.

I'm sure those fights aren't his only income, they would be topping up security work etc

Apparently not. You get assigned a number now. Then you can choose to change it. Something like that.
Although there have been a few trolls.
