I think exemptions to facilitate “elite sport” apply.

It’s a decent fight considering availability. The fact he has a well known name on his record means they can play on that a bit.

Frank W, the co-promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has hit back at Eddie Hearn's claim that Dillian Whyte is levels above Agit Kabayel.

Fury is slated to return to December 5th in UK, with a voluntary defense, and Kabayel is the frontrunner to face him on the date.

Whyte, who was knocked out cold by Alexander Povetkin in August, was scheduled to face the Russian boxer in a rematch on November 21.

The fight with Povetkin was postponed, when the Russian boxer tested positive for COVID-19.

With Fury not having a finalized opponent, Hearn floated the idea of having Whyte step in there for a title shot.

Hearn views Whyte as the far better fighter when compared to Kabayel.

Warren is not in agreement - as Whyte had two violent wars with Derek Chisora. In the first meeting, Whyte won a razor-close and some felt controversial decision. And in the second fight, Chisora was ahead on the cards when Whyte knocked him out in the twelfth and final round.

On the other hand, Kabayel won a twelve round decision over Chisora with few issues.

"Kabayel is an unbeaten European heavyweight champion so is no pushover for Fury if we get it all secured. Eddie Hearn has been trying to push for Dillian Whyte to face Fury on December 5," Warren told The Daily Star.

"But I've made it clear over the last few weeks that Whyte shouldn't have been fighting in November after such a brutal knockout by Alexander Povetkin in August. Now they want him to step up and face the WBC champion after being poleaxed by Povetkin? That is crazy.

"Hearn has also said Whyte is levels above Kabayel but didn't the Brit have life and death twice with Derek Chisora? Kabayel had a fairly routine points win over Chisora back in 2017."

Actually, Whyte vs Kabayel could be nice.

I make Fish Eyes right there to be honest, as much as I couldn't even tell you what Kabayel looks like.

They’re taking their time announcing the fight. Less than 4 weeks out and whilst Fury doesn’t need much promotion if the show’s going to do well then they need to be pushing it and getting content filmed.

Fight in doubt as Fury has said he will return in 2021.

Sh*t, probably team Kabayel had more demands.

Thought Fury didn’t care about money. Has he given his 8m from the first Wilder fight to charity yet?

Hopefully he gets 'depressed' and retires again, then we'll have got rid of British boxing's two biggest clowns in one day.

Interesting that Rafael says the fight isn’t happening as Fury wasn’t happy with the money Frank offered.

The December 5th announcement has been a bit of a shambles. FW only said on Friday that it would be announced on Monday. Even planning to announce a PPV at less than 3 weeks notice is stupid - even with Tyson’s charisma.

Plus it’s promotion will be split by the exhibition PPV the week before.

Hopefully they go ahead with a normal Saturday night fight night with Yarde vs Arthur.

Frank isn’t exactly going to come out and say that Fury wasn’t happy with the offer he made him.

They’ve known about the arbitration for a couple of weeks now and even during the show on Friday Frank was still maintaining that Fury was fighting on the 5th.

It's a terrible fight anyway, no huge loss if it doesn't happen.

Fury must be a little frustrated with this whole rematch saga, he wanted to be out this year.

Hopefully this doesn't delay the Joshua fight even longer.

Surely they knew this a while ago?! It’s hardly a surprise! I’m pretty sure Fury would have still been very well paid.

Yeh, literally no point. Fury may aswell just be sole promoted by Arum.

Agree. If that's the case that's poor from Fury in my view. He and allegedly have been insisting Fury would fight this year and surely would have been aware of the financial situation before now. Yesteryear Kabayel would have been a non-title fight. How much does Fury expect from fighting him?

A shame. Weren't they just waiting for kabayel to sign the contract. And hasn't fury been training all year.

Takam's Promoter Says Deal To Face Tyson Fury was "98%" Done - Then Off

Joe DeGuardia, promoter for heavyweight contender Carlos Takam, said a deal was nearly complete for a fight with WBC champion Tyson Fury - but the comeback date unexpectedly called off.

DeGuardia feels Fury was leaning in the direction of Kabayel in order to face someone who was undefeated but at the same time may have been less of a risk than Takam.

"We really wanted that fight," DeGuardia told Sky Sports. "We thought it would be a great fight for Carlos and a good fight for boxing, and I thought it would fit well. We're disappointed.

"I think [Fury] knew he would have a tough fight with Carlos, a guy who has got a lot of experience and a risky fight, and instead opted for the guy who had the optics of being undefeated, but not as difficult as Carlos would be.

"[Takam] was 100 percent confident. He clearly thought that he was going to win. He was training very hard and was very much looking forward to the fight. I think we were at I would say 98 percent done [in negotiations] and then it just changed in one day. Not necessarily with Fury, we were done with every other aspect, and maybe Fury's team probably didn't want Carlos for the reasons we just discussed, I would imagine."
