Gabriel Enguema? That would be a decent enough fight (i havent really heard of him im looking at his record.).

Big guy, seems to be in shape always, has been compeditive with some undefeated guys recently, beat Alvaro Terrero wide, made it 6 with romonov, has gone 10 rounds multiple times (including with rivas), has 4 or 5 closely judged losses from the away corner so fair chance he really won them.

judging by his record, he seems like he can box a bit, and is durable, is big and fairly fit. would be a pretty big step up for johny for sure.

Enguema’s confirmed. Decent enough matchmaking.

Big step up. Johnny should be good enough, but i wouldent schedule it for any more than 6 rounds incase it gets tricky.

ya good test for johnny, although 10-11 dude's been competitive with a couple recognizable guys, rarely stopped early, and easily beat john's last opponent. decent size though probably more like 6'4 than 6'5.5 to nitpick. only loss that stands out as being bad is the one to very mediocre chris lewandowski in 2015

actually im surprised this is the spaniards fight time over, he couldve been testing a lot of our hws over the years. not a puncher either so woulda thought it woulda make him extra appealing

actually former enguema opponent ed gerber looks a bit like, johnny

The opps will be poor for the next few months. Only to be expected.

So far fisher comes out banging but we can't really say how far he's going to go at this stage.

There are certainly enough new hw's around to make the second tier domestic scene exciting as long as they actually fight each other.

Early days man.
No one, as far as I know, is tipping him to be the next world champ out of England, or even the next European champ. But he is fun to watch and is learning on the job. We will see how he goes when there is motivated opposition put in with him for sure. It looks like he can take a shot, which will help for now. And he is training hard, it's not like another HW blob in the ring, he is serious about fitness.
Come on, we all love to get behind an up and coming HW prospect don't we?
Especially when he is laying out who the put in front of him :box:

Yeah TBF guys he sparred with like Joe Joyce have said he hits hard and has a great chin so I hope he does well. If he moves up a level or two he will garner great support. And the heavyweight division in the U.K. has rarely been this busy so I’m definitely on the Romford Bull’s train

Johnny in action this weekend on the Jacobs/Ryder card against Spanish #1 Heavyweight Gabriel Enguema.
#1 out of #3 :D
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/656399
Still, for his 5th fight it is an experienced opponent who has been stopped 4/11 times, be interesting if Johnny can make it 5/12.

Anyone know how many rounds this is? I assume they wont go for more than 6, defiantly shouldn't, be silly booking a prospect thats never gone past 3 rounds in for more than 6 rounds with a guy that has decent 10 round experence..... but he has sold a fornicate load of tickets so could be some pressure to make it an 8 rounder...

I think so too. Actually glad of it, win or lose. Sick of heavyweight prospects doing 10 or more knock overs, they learn nothing, and can actually get worse defence if there is nothing coming back at them.
Wilder's 27 knock over opponents sure didn't teach him much about defence or boxing in general

Sold nearly 2500 tickets, how many will make it to the fight.... Big john fisher (Dad fish) has set up a pub crawl starting at midday and ending up at ally pally. I imagine if you try to go beer for beer with Big john starting at miday your going to be fuking twisted come fight time.

If they can all get in and stay conscious atmosphere will be electric..

Heck that's a lot of tickets. They better be paying him well then, or he might as well sign with Jake Paul.
That pub crawl sounds like trouble.

Iv always wondered what the ticket deal is... like if you sell them out of your hand do you get 10%? more? less? 2500x 80 quid... thats 200,000 quid of tickets... 10% would be pretty handy.

fornicating hell. If johny is getting a 100,000 quid bonus to fight journymen then he is officially the king of boxing. Just have 7 or 8 of them a year and live the dream.

You would want 25% for sure, esp for that number of tickets, and I doubt they are paying more than 5k for the opponent.

I know when Johnny resigned with Matchroom his deal was weighted towards ticket commissions so I’ve no doubt he’s doing very well out of it.

I saw an interview with him yesterday and he said he’s done 2,200 out of his hand and could have done another 500 but Eddie wouldn’t give him anymore so the guys bought directly from StubHub instead. I think he said he said his dad was picking up another couple of hundred yesterday to try and sell through.

His dad must be raking it in too as having a good chunk of his fans on a pub crawl will be worth good money to some of the boozers. I can’t believe he’s not asking for a few quid from them.

At the end of the day it's bums on seats which generate the money.

Obv there are a lot of talented folk who can't sell a ticket.

I guess Fisher is earning fore than British and Euro champs for 6 rounders.

Crazy really for a guy with barely any amateur experience, he is already on the big bucks fighting other novices.

But then again look at Jake Paul!

I seem to remember FW's ticket deals being circa 25% a couple of decades back. There or thereabouts. Arnie will obviously know. He used to push a good few tickets.

2200 tickets is serious. Must be a popular lad.

Yep. For a guy without a link to a football club and at his level it’s really impressive and will keep growing each fight if he keeps performing.

Heavyweight opponents cost more than that surely?
