Yes as been said he will of turned half the country against him years ago when he spent all his time on Twitter bad mouthing rangers and the support, you just don't do that in Scotland it's a pr disaster. He was also in the papers for trouble with a bouncer can't quite remember but he was definitely in the wrong and came across badly that time too. The constant hard man act will rub people up the wrong way too. Outside of boxing fans he will be pretty much unknown in any other part of Scotland apart from Edinburgh

Only decides he's from Edinburgh, when he bangs on about a homecoming fight at the Castle, which he knows when he's tweeting that he has no chance.

As for tweeting about Rangers, I do recall he congratulated them for there first Top division title, so I don't by that he was bad mouthing them or 5jat

He may as well be from there.

It's like being from Ashton, which is 5 miles from Manchester City Centre, but it's still part of the Greater Manchester Region.

The big arena's and stadiums are in the city's, not the smaller towns.

He was always slagging off rangers and arguing with rangers fans on his Twitter a few years back too many times to mention and he would always use the word "Huns" tryin to play the hibs hard man. No wonder no one could give two fucks about him up here

Josh Taylor will defend his undisputed world super-lightweight title against Jack Catterall in Glasgow on December 18 in one of the highlights of the new Sky Sports boxing schedule unveiled today.

Undisputed world champion Josh Taylor is relishing a full-house Scottish homecoming fight after his "tainted" triumph over Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas.

Taylor, who made history by becoming the first Briton to unify a division in the four-belt era with victory over Ramirez, will face Jack Catterall at Glasgow's SSE Hydro on 18 December.

A vastly reduced crowd in Vegas - with no UK fans allowed - witnessed Taylor's epic super-lightweight win.

"I'm absolutely buzzing," he said.

"I can't wait to get back to the Hydro, my second home, and put on a show for everyone.

"The Ramirez fight was kind of tainted and tarnished for because I couldn't take my family, friends and fanbase with me. So it doesn't go down as my best memory or achievement because there was no one there to share it with me."

Englishman Catterall, 28, the WBO mandatory challenger, stepped aside to allow the Ramirez fight to happen and now gets a shot at all four belts against the 30-year-old champion, who has 13 knockouts in his 18-0 record.

The Hydro holds a special place in Taylor's affections. It was where he won Commonwealth Games gold in 2014 and has hosted half of his fights since he turned professional the following year.

However, Taylor has not fought in Scotland in his three bouts since defeating Ivan Baranchyk at the Hydro in May 2019 to win the IBF crown, his first world title.

Should he add Catterall to his list of victims, Taylor remains keen to step up to welterweight for a crack at Terence Crawford.

"There's still plenty more fights in me," he said. "I could retire today and be half content, but six months or a year down the line I'd realise I could have done more. I'd be retiring with regret.

"I want to create more history and achieve more greatness. It would be brilliant to be a two-weight world champion."

He was beyond Catteralls level when he beat Davies in my opinion. I’ve seen nothing to suggest otherwise.

Well Taylor and Catterall are with different promoters and have been on different tv companies with their last fight. On paper it was harder than Brook vs Khan when both were affiliated with Sky / Matchroom, Parker vs Chisora 2 and Usyk vs Joshua - which seemed to have weeks of negotations being documented..

He would always recieve alot of interest due to his out of the ring carry on and his genuine hard as nails personality. There wasn't the same level of casual interest back in those days as there is now with Instagram and YouTube

The jump in levels is so vast it will probably be over in no more than 3. You can't go from struggling against the likes of Tyrone mckenna to fighting a guy that's been on a serious streak at world level and almost breaking into the p4p top ten

if catt just wants to survive, i think he'll be hard to stop early. jt likes to counter and might not have much to work with. he'll prob win every minute of the fight but can see it going rounds
