I’ve cancelled now, my payment takes me up to mid September anyway so will get the Spain show included within that. Might resub for the Liverpool show.

This was a good card on paper. Unfortunate the main event ended the way it did but that’s boxing.

I don`t think the Liverpool card looks any better than last nights card. The main event could be good; potentially Cheeseman v Williamson also .. but none of those contests are top drawer are they. The Shannon Courtenay and the other matchups look nothing exciting at all.

We don’t have many U.K. fighters that can be in top drawer fights. We’re in a lull period for top British fighters who are well known (outside of the heavyweight division) but cards like the Liverpool one are good and are what I like.

Fowler/Smith - a really strong local derby.
Cheeseman/Williamson - a good 50/50 that should be a good fight.
Conway/Metcalf - another 50/50 at a decent level.
Willis/Charlton - another good competitive fight.
Dacres/Sokolowski - a decent fight for a novice heavyweight against someone who’ll be trying to win.

I just want good, competitive (involving 2 fighters trying to win) fights at a reasonable level. The Liverpool show delivers on that. Have FW, Mick or any other promoter put on a better show than that this year?

I agree it's the card of the year as it stands. And if the Fury Wilder goes ahead after, there's some competitive Heavy fights on the undercard of it.

So it will easily be the nights boxing in a long time on October 9th if all goes to plan.

Although I've been burned the past 2 weeks as I thought Warren's card last week and Hearns last night were decent beforehand, and we got 2 stinkers and underwhelming shows.

Outside of Fowler/Smith/ Cheeseman/ Williamson I just don`t know enough about the others .. and their records don`t suggest an exciting watch.
That other shows have been even worse doesnt really sell it for me.

Hearn keeps justifying the move to DAZN and price rise by mentioning the Smith v Fowler card. 2 years ago Smith v Eggington (who is a similar level to Fowler) headlined a Saturday Fight Night card with Fowler v Fitz as the co-main. It’s just a way of brainwashing the casuals. Smith v Fowler could have easily been done on Sky.

Last night on Channel 5 really brought it home, no budget and still fantastic stuff.

Where is the DAZN budget going? Production? Whyte and Mikey Garcia in big budget mismatches? If AJ and Canelo aren't on there, then what is the big bucks going on?

I have not cancelled yet and I'm expecting good things for Liverpool card which is still @1.99 for me. Will wait and assess the schedule after that. But it needs big improvement.

I can’t see how Dazn maintains this. Unless it has a huge subscriber base in America, Europe or Asia thats subsidising this.

That’s definitely gonna be the issue - 8 quid a month for Netflix or Prime is reasonable because of the amount of stuff on there, not to mention the variety.

8 quid a month for DAZN for - at best - 1 good boxing show a month just isn’t an attractive proposition for 99% of people.
