I think Fury's size and movement would have provided some problems, but Lennox was a masterful boxer, and had proper power in both hands. I think he'd have caught up to Fury at some point and given him a caning.

Bugner was a very good defensive fighter, and a big man too. He turned pro quite late on, but he had good survival skills.

Lewis would KO fury. He’s much better than him. It’s not even close. Career wise, he pisses all over Fury. He’d beat Fury and Wilder on the same night.

I think regardless of how a Fury fight might have unfolded, I have little doubt Lewis would have done a Michael Grant on Wilder, who lacks core skills.

Yes, without a doubt, he would have absolutely clobbered Wilder. Wilder is shite. He has a massive punch, but his fundamentals are almost entirely lacking.

I love Fury but Lewis would've walked straight through him. He was hard as nails and could defo take Fury's power. And he had technique along with his power so wouldn't need to miss 1093938941 punches to land one unlike Wilder

To get things in perspective maybe someone should compare Željko Mavrović and Usyk at heavyweight. I bet they aren’t a million miles apart in terms of ability at the top weight.

That's surprising, I always read he turned to boxing after having been good at lots of other sports, and encouraged to turn pro due to his stature. However, looks like he had a very short amateur career, so looks like it was that he was a latecomer as an amateur.

Bugner was a bit passive, but he was a 15 round fighter. His jab was decent enough to win plenty of fights even in middle age. If you watch a young Frank Bruno beating him, he wasn’t that bothered by Frank’s punching power. I think the ref could have let it go on and it probably would have gone the distance. Maybe with Frank hanging on a bit in the end. Who knows?! Nearly made the commonwealth games discus team for Australia when in his early 40’s. Probably a little known fact!

I believe he was a talented track and field guy- as per his discuss efforts mentioned above. But he needed to provide for his mom, so boxing it was

I watched some highlights of Lewis's fights last night on YouTube and I had forgot just how good he was!

Taking nothing away from Fury, Lewis but there is no way he would have beaten Lennox

I think these days with Fury, Joshua, Usyk, Whyte and Joyce, it’s not so much big fish in a small pond, more medium fish in a paddling pool.

He has certainly proven to me that he is more than good. Stylistically diverse; power; IQ; boxing skills; and of course massive size. He'd be good in any era. It'll be difficult to call him GOAT or even in the discussion. Not his fault. More the fault of the era he fought.

Makes no sense. Completely different styles. Mavrovic even came on late vs Lewis and did some decent work.

Lewis isn't walking through Fury. Fury performs well in all his big fights. I can see a closely contested points win or if they got sloppy, a brawl, and I'm not so sure Lewis can recover as well as Fury after being dropped to the canvas.

Didn't people call this era great when Joshua was on top? Funny how that changed. This era is plenty decent.

Lewis' best wins were against an aged Holyfield, razor close but clear win over Mercer and freak cut vs a good but fragile Klitschko.

Fury's best wins were against an aged Klitschko, 2x Chisora and 3x Wilder. I could see Lewis losing by KO to Wilder and then winning the rematch by KO.

Fury doesn't have the depth of Lewis' resume since he hasn't fought often, but the top wins of each aren't miles apart and he also hasn't lost twice by knockout. But you might say if Fury fought more he could lose to a worse challenger as Lewis did.

No sane person has ever called this era of heavyweight boxing “great”.

AJ isn’t there yet, but who knows what his career will look like in 5 years.

As for fury, eye test he might be the best, but is a 39 year old kilt, chisora twice, and wilder 3 times (nearly got stopped in 2 of them) good enough to surpass Lewis, no. If those two were to of fought prime vs prime I’d have it as a pickem.

The money earnt by top heavyweights now means they don’t t have to fight frequently or stick around too long
