Whereas Joe Joyce only took up the boxing until he was 22 years of age.

And by his own admission, he only started taking the sport seriously when he realised he was good at it.

It’s been almost a decade since Joyce and Usyk faced each other in the WSB.

Everything went according to the expectations. Joyce started slow, but overwhelmed Parker. The real class of Parker has been ultimately revealed. He is a mediocre boxer. Joyce is probably even worse in boxing, but sometimes toughness prevails, while Joyce has tons of it. Too big, too strong, too durable.

I guess I'm eating crow. Parker just never delivers. Fair play to Joyce, but the guy is a freaking human punching bag. His chin is unreal. Maybe Fury? He has enough movement to avoid a lot of Joyce, but as we saw today - the guy is bloody relentless!
If Wilder was relaxed enough to pull the trigger on his #1 weapon and didn't end up breaking his hand on Joe's face, then maybe. But I don't think Joyce would give Wilder the opportunity to set up his right hand.
So Uysk is the only guy I would risk a bet on.

Joyce will handle everyone, except Fury and Usyk. Those two are skilled and elusive enough to outbox Joyce. Apart from them, no one from the current top roster will be able to deal with the relentless pressure.

Some of the punches Parker landed were great. Would have dropped most guys. Unfortunately last night, he was in there with Michael Myers.

I also believe he should have done hit and move and box more.. but he said he’d trade and that’s what he did. You just can’t do that with Joyce.

I do think the KO blow was good.. but at that point Parker was probably more exhausted than anything.

Excellent fight. Joyce is relentless. Arguably has the best chin and engine in the division. I liked how Parker was putting a lot behind his punches, he possibly would've got the KO against anyone else.

Parker just wouldn't be able to land such telegraphing swings on any living body. Only Joyce could allow it, cause he doesn't feel anything.

Parker could have quit anytime after the 8th but he kept going.

Kept trying to get Joyce to walk on to a big shot by playing possum. It must take something special to carry on when you know that even your best punch is not having much effect.

Even got up after that devastating knockdown in the 11th when his eyes told a sorry story, but Joseph Parker is one who prefers to be carried out on his own shield rather than quit.

Joe Joyce, after years of criticism, has now certainly shook up the heavyweight scene, first Daniel Dubois and now Joseph Parker.

There was an article earlier last week that said Joyce's bone density is five times that of an average man while most athletes in contact sports have bone density three times the average man.
