Exactly. Talk of beating Josh are well off at the moment. Dickens would be ideal as if he blows him away early doors then that’s a better sign instead of blowing away some unknown Mexican.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Nov 2022, 22:44 ball looks good but he best win was isaac lowe coming off a beatdown ko loss. could do with more of a transition to some of the names being mentioned. given how unusally short he is i would like to see him against a decently skilled boxer with some jab and movement. he was listed at 5'2 then magically bumped to 5'5 , which he obviously isnt (he's almost a full head shorter than 5'6-5'7 lowe)
the mexican the other night has 0 notable results and came in way late notice, hard to take much from that tbh

Late to the game on this one as had the father-in-law up in London for the weekend....
So, first things first, i've said it before and I'll say it again, but the York Hall is such a special venue, that even when the card ain't all that, it's still possible to have a good night out just soaking in the atmosphere.
That aside, in terms of the fights themselves I think they've been well dissected already on here so will keep my observations brief.
Umar Khan - Really liked the look of him. Nice composure and shot selection, but will be interesting to see his ability to maintain that when stepping up against 'live' opponents. Lack of power could definitely be an issue.
David Adeleye - We're spoilit with heavyweight talent at the moment and while it's difficult to judge based on this one fight, I didn't really see anything there that got me excited about his potential. Would be surprised if he pushed on past Brit/Euro level (and no shame in that level by the way!).
Willie Hutchinson - Feel like I should be more excited about his potential than I actually am - some lovely boxing ability and strings his shots together really nicely, but it was a tailor-made opponent and just feel i have to reserve judgement until I see him back in with someone like Clarke who is willing to put it on him. Also seemed to run out of ideas a bit when he didn't get the early stoppage.
Nick Ball - never going to be in a dull fight and really impressed with how he went hunting but also finished the job. Agree with those that feel he needs to be tested more before stepping in with Kiko though. Dickens would constitute the perfect match-up for me.
One final observation - not sure why a Liverpool fighter was topping the bill in London on a Friday night, as the place was less than half-full by the time Ball came on. Atmosphere felt very low key compared to earlier in the evening.
