id guess they thought ward's experience would prove enough, but otabek looked really impressive in his previous fight too and was on the powerhouse uzbek national team in the ams. basically a very high risk fight vs little known but very dangerous guy, for a wba mandatory spot. i dunno, was it worth it?

Seems that way.

The bookies had Ward underdog. I had a look earlier and Ward was around 3/1 to win. I went on specifically looking for the odds on Ward to lose by stoppage. It was 10/11 and I was hoping for wider so didn’t go for it.
