People saying there was no mention of Herol Graham - who do you think the black bloke was that Brendan was arguing with outside his house who drove off in the car?

People saying there was no mention of Ryan Rhodes - Naz sparred with Ryan in the film when they were both kids. Brendan referred to him as Ryan.

The film was about Naz and his rise to the top. Characters playing Jonny nelson, Buster keeton etc were often visible in the film. I thought the mix of other gym characters besides Naz was reasonably well done.

The film as a whole was decent. By no means great but it was an interesting watch.

As for Naz saying a lot of the film was fabricated.......Well John and Dom were used as sources of info for the film, of course Naz is going to say its fabricated. He doesnt want to be seen as someone who gave a 50 year old Brendan a beating in the ring. But that actually did happen, and it happened worse than the film portrayed.
Ah come on Rhino … you’d have to be so dialled in to know who they were. Ryan played a big part in the gym and by your own admission he was only shown fleetingly. A casual watcher wouldn’t even know Brendan had coached other pro fighters to even Area fights at the time.

The Graham split was shown so fleetingly and obscurely that it gave no context to what happened later …. Other than the most obvious Hollywood cheap signposting of Alma saying ‘it’s happening again’.

Yes John and Dom were consulted, but their input doesn’t have to be taken on board - the inaccuracies are there to be seen and I doubt John and Dom would have advised that they were laughing during the Barrera fight.

I’m genuinely curious as to what could be enjoyed about it - as I just don’t get it. As I said above it’s not a good boxing film (the fight scenes are terrible), it’s not a good connection film, it’s historically incorrect and it’s not a good piece of act (starting with the acting).

I kind of agree with some of what you're saying. The fight scenes were sort of video game esque and we're taken from a POV perspective but would have looked better from a ringside view.
Let's not forget the film was about Brendan and Naz. It wasn't about the whole ingle stable. Many years were skipped out. Personally I liked the cheeky young Naz bits the best.
I'd rate it 6/10. I didn't find myself wanting to watch it again but I did watch it all the way through and enjoyed it.

I’d agree the young Naz bits are ok … and his relationship with John. Overall I’m going 2/10 :-)
