Good call. One thing I like about her is she values hearing the corners and will often say let's see if we can hear what is being said in the corner. Smith on the other hand is doing his ridiculous over the top garbage while the corners are talking and it's impossible to hear them.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025, 15:20 I’m defo not leading the PC brigade but I must admit Poncher on the US foreign feed is a breathe of fresh air and has been for years. She’s one of the few who knows when to shut up.
I can’t wait for Smith to Purr after an Ad-Break about how he loves LIV Golf. Koepka and DeChambeau next to each other. There’s the respect and only on DAZN.

Re: Adam Smith
I lost count of the amount of times that Smith said something like "it'll be interesting to hear what the corner are saying" on Saturday and then talked over what the corner were saying. Can't remember a show on tv where there was quite such a torrent of self-promotion from the channel - seemed like every other sentence mentioned 'DAZN'. The sentences that didn't mention them mostly mentioned 'The Ring'.
Re: Adam Smith
Smith always sounds like he needs a s**t.
The only current commentators I can actually tolerate are Barry Jones and George Groves (who always gets the blame).
In general, I still find the commentary heavily biased towards to home fighter. The absolute worst are Darren Barker, Bellew, Paul Smith (miserable as f88k).
Best option is to turn it off and listen to Stockhausen.

Zero insight, zero impartiality, zero intelligence - A bottom of the range company cheerleader, first sky, then DAZN, whoever he is working for - every commentary is a non-stop effort to sell the brand or whatever he’s watching as “entertaining” at all costs for his paymasters, like he’s applying for a job and his life depends on it

The fake voice is grating. Attitude is as if hes talking to kids or a group of mugs.
I can't describe how much I despise this guy for ruining boxing nights for me for decades!!!

I’ve had to turn the TV commentary off…the commentary team must think we are blind and half deaf with all the excitable shouting. Extolling Okolie at every opportunity when in fact he was gash.
So I’ve put on Radio 5 live and now I’ve got
The pleasure of listening to Bunceys hyperbole.

Re: Adam Smith
Yep, the Ronster did a good job for Radio 5 live tonight
Buncey had some very complimentary words for Usyk after the fight had finished. It's fair to say, Buncey was extremely impressed with Usyk's performance.

You would think Turki would have the power to get rid of him.
Perhaps Sky could claim they have the rights to Smith, and the court battle could take years, leaving Smith in limbo

I don’t know, I had to turn that shite off as well. I listened to the last 2 rounds in silence, it was loads better than listening to the shouty/arse licky/excellency claptrapCaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 17:17Is Big Ronald on comms ?johnty1888 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 16:56 I’ve had to turn the TV commentary off…the commentary team must think we are blind and half deaf with all the excitable shouting. Re: Adam Smith
Adam's a great guy and very knowledgeable on the sport, but I don't care for his commentary. I MUCH preferred Mike Costello. That said, Adam could be doing what he's told to do from the higher ups.
