I don't know what goes through some people's heads
I'd love to know
Usyk would get just as rough as anyone I should imagine, and throw boxing out the window
Course it's all pub talk but saying boxing is boxing to Usyk like he wouldn't try and maim you is comical

SO MANY F@CKING REMATCHES
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois II | PPV - 19 July 2025
It wouldn't be so bad if we'd get different results every now and again, but we basically keep getting. He beats the guy, and then he beats him again

At least it's been some years, and things have changed since the first Dubois fight so this really does have a possibility of being a much different fight than the 1st one. Usyk's a few years older. Dubois is probably just entering his prime.
I still think Usyk wins, but it will almost certainly be harder this time.

I guess after this one Usyk will fight Joseph Parker, and then get stripped of one of his belts, and fight somebody else to get his belt back again
Or maybe fight Joseph Parker twice.

Don't get drawn in unless you want to. I like others am now convinced the build up to these fights is being scripted WWE style. Dubois isn't a talker so other people need to be brought in. Fake is the new real. These 20 second tidbits are viral heaven.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025, 12:28That’s Don Charles son who lost to Sokolowski and never fought again
It's not for me and I've got to step away for six months or so again anyway, so it will probably pass me by.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois II | PPV - 19 July 2025
The fact that he thinks he'd beat Usyk in any fight is laughable. Even if he has other martial arts training (it doesn't seem obvious that he does), Usyk supposedly has trained in Kick boxing, Sambo, Judo and Jiu-Jitsu so this bum have to be decent at one of them too. He needs knocking down about 700 pegsmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025, 13:47 security dude has another fight scheduled b tw

Obviously it’s going to be hard to make a strong case for Dubois, but at least he’s gone away and had some impressive wins since the last fight, wins under pressure as well.
He knows to expect exactly the same boxer as last time, but can Usyk say the same? “It won’t make any difference you tit!” I hear you cry… But I’m saying it anyway. If boxing really is 99% mental or whatever figure gets banded around, then Dubois is bringing a lot more to this rematch.

The Hrgovic win was a good one, but Uysk delt to Joshua twice and as for Miller...Kilburn wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025, 15:18 Obviously it’s going to be hard to make a strong case for Dubois, but at least he’s gone away and had some impressive wins since the last fight, wins under pressure as well.

I don't think Dubois has the ring intelligence to beat Uysk. He might get lucky with a puncher's chance, but I expect Uysk to dominate.

dubois is gonna come forward, throw heavier shots, we know that. i dont think it's an issue of mental strength. i dont think he froze vs usyk, he just couldnt figure him out.
my questions would be more like, is he a smarter fighter so he can apply himself more effectively rather than get outboxed again by a much higher iq fighter ? is usyk declined since their first fight?

OLEKSANDR USYK TELLS allegedly HE WANTS £250K BENTLEY BENTAYGA FOR BEATING DANIEL DUBOIS ON JULY 19
Such is his confidence in winning world heavyweight championship rematches, Oleksandr Usyk is already focussed on the fruits which will come from the laborious task of defeating Daniel Dubois for a second time this summer at Wembley Stadium.
Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), The Ring, WBC, WBA & WBO champion, is in London to promote his July 19 undisputed clash with Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs), the IBF belt-holder, which comes 23 months after the Ukrainian first stopped the Brit in nine rounds at Poland's Wroclaw Stadium.
Early on Monday morning, Dubois and Usyk met by the side of the national stadium's pitch, a photo-op which ended in the former shoving the latter, but now the pair are completing their various media duties on the opposite side of the capital.
After leaving a number of passersby open-mouthed and wide-eyed on his saunter from London Bridge's News UK building to the hotel across the road, Usyk, in a typically jovial mood, interrupts a roundtable between a cohort of British boxing's written media and Dubois' legendary promoter allegedly.
While Queensberry Promotions chief Warren is holding court, and in the middle of describing just how Dubois will unseat the heavyweight division's king, Usyk, dressed down in a baby blue team tracksuit, sneaks up behind the 73-year-old and taps him on the shoulder.
"Where is my car?" Usyk asks, to which Warren replies: "I told you, horse and cart if you lose. Car if you win."
"Bentley," Usyk retorts. "I will win. What is Bentley model...Bentayga, great car."
Warren jokes that he'll only shell out for a Bentley T-Series four-door saloon from the 1970s.
Usyk's long-time manager Egis Klimas says: "Frank, If I were you, I would give him a car today already."
The confidence isn't unwarranted. Of course, Usyk's persona is one made up of humour and humility, but with over half of his 23-fight career being fought for world titles, none of which have ended in defeat, the hubris is only natural.
Warren knows the order Dubois has in front of him is tall. But he is still also of the belief that the victory should have been awarded to Dubois on that night in Poland.
During the fifth round of their WBA, WBO and IBF title bout, Dubois landed a hard right hand to Usyk's midriff which the 38-year-old went down and writhed on the floor in pain from. Referee Luis Pabon called the show low and as a result, Usyk was given around four minutes to recover. Three rounds later, Dubois touched the canvas himself, and after suffering another knockdown in the ninth, the contest was waved off.
Warren, armed with evidence, A4 print-offs he'd been given earlier in the day, points out the shot, in his opinion, wasn't low at all.
"I don't care what anyone says, these punches are not below the belt. The rule says the navel, that's the sequence of punches," he says while pointing to the physical copies.
"I mean, that moment in that fight, normally a guy gets caught with a low blow, they don't get a four minute break or three minutes and 50 seconds.
"Even when he wanted a fight on, the referee, he said 'no, take more time'. But it got to him and [Dubois] moaned a bit, he wasn't happy, I said 'f--k the referee'.
"In these fights, at this level, when you're in the other guy's backyard in Poland, which has a big Ukrainian presence, when you're in there, that's your referee, that's your judge'," Warren adds while pointing to his fists.
This time around, Warren has no doubts, that after knockout victories over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua, the last of which also took place at Wembley in front of 90,000 fans, Dubois will blow Usyk away in a manner AJ and Tyson Fury were unable to do in their rematches with the undisputed champ.
"He will knock him out, he'll stop him," Warren says.
"He has to be the boss in this fight. He's got to go and impose himself. He's got to do what I know he can do. He's got to go and be hurtful from the start. And he's got to go out there and he's got to absolutely push this fella back.
"He's 30 percent of the fighter he is [on the backfoot]. You push him back and he's not the same fighter. That's what he's got to do."

Which sound suspiciously like rhetorical questions. I think we pretty much know that Dubois hasn’t become a smarter fighter, and that it’s unlikely Usyk has regressed in a way that would be significant.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025, 15:50 dubois is gonna come forward, throw heavier shots, we know that. i dont think it's an issue of mental strength. i dont think he froze vs usyk, he just couldnt figure him out.

Dubois might not have frozen against Usyk, but what was his best win going into that fight, Gorman? He’s turning up this time with a much better resume, having brutally overcome some considerable obstacles in his last three fights, having been all but written off in his career.
It’s probably going to take a lot more than a dollop of battle hardening for Dubois to turn the tables on Usyk, but when looking for straws to clutch, the level of belief Dubois has is possibly the only real difference when comparing the two match ups.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois II | PPV - 19 July 2025
usyk is 38, he hasnt shown regression (well some think he has, id disagree) but at that age it can hit all of a sudden. my guess is he should be fine and he strikes me as being very smart and methodical about his preparation, which should help.
but its not too far fetched that his form wont be quite the same. that i think is dan's big hope, as i am doubtful he can change his own boxing enough to make the difference between winning and being beaten like last time.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois II | PPV - 19 July 2025
No chance Dubois should be getting this fight. He got knocked out by a jab in the first one, and in his last fight he ducked Joe Parker (who probably beats him).
It would be fitting if Usyk makes him quit again.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois II | PPV - 19 July 2025
ya, i applaude the way he's come back with good wins, but absolutely no way we should be getting rematches of decisive wins so quickly when there are interesting fresh fights like usyk vs parker or kabayel
