That's happened to everyone at some point.
Amanda Serrano was popular when Wilder fought Stiverne? I wouldn't imagine she's very popular now even, let alone then.
A 3 weight World Champion Nuyorican (that's a Puerto Rican from New York for Mickey & Gilgamesh) & you don't think she was popular then. In New York.
You two are the gift that keeps on giving. This is a hilarious way to start off the year
Hey good for her. I don't keep up with Women's Boxing that hard. I'd never heard of her until she fought Katie Taylor the 2nd time.

Is Wilder still relevant? He's definitely far from deserving a shot. If he faces Usyk, he gets destroyed.

He's relevant in the sense that he's a name. In the fight he'd be potentially one shot away from being EXTREMELY relevant again. The likelihood of him landing that shot is slim, but I'd hesitate to say impossible.

Usyk's chin is great. He took clean shots of Joshua and Gassiev. Moreover, his reflexes are good enough not to let the shot windmill Wilder to land clean.
In any case, Kabayel deserves this title shot now.

Oleksandr Usyk told The Ring's @MikeCoppinger that he intends to fight two or three more times before retiring, with Deontay Wilder first on his hit list

Wilder is like a "dead" snake. it's probably not dangerous anymore but I'd also hesitate before saying it's impossible

We will see if he's relevant or not when they announce the venue, etc.

Makes for a very boring fight. Wilder has looked absolutely bereft of ideas against contenders. Him losing every round to Parker tells me I'm not going to enjoy this one
A well paid punching bag

Wilder is fvcking dreadful, we’ve all said it for years. Barely ever even won a round against anyone decent.

He probably won about 8 rounds against Tyson Fury in 3 fights with him. That's a decent opponent.
He obviously hasn't done much lately though. I doubt he'd legitimately be in the Top 20 at this point.

8 rounds seems a bit kind. Did you have him winning fight 1 even excluding the kds
The 1st fight was an honest draw in my opinion so that's 5 rounds. In the 2nd fight Wilder won the 1st round, and then was dominated from there. In their 3rd fight he won a few rounds. One of 'em big.

Honestly i also think Wilder won first fight. That 2 knockdowns were just brutal. That demolitions in 2nd ant 3rd fights are more apreciated because of that. masterpiece by Fury

Do you get extra points for brutal knockdowns?
And the first knockdown was brutal???
rest of rounds were pretty hard to score. Tactical match. Wilder won for me with those knockdowns But draw is fine too

I do think in that first fight, a lot of people think fury is ‘schooling’ him. But he’s not. Just pitty patty shots and not even doing much. You give Wilder 5 rounds even. Two KD’s and he wins.

7 rounds to 5 with 2 knockdowns for the man winning 5, equals a 113-113 scorecard.
That's how the judges scored Hearns vs Leonard 2 a draw also.

Wilder wins 3 of the first 5 rounds in my opinion. He's the aggressor early on in that fight.
Deontay Wilder hasn’t looked as explosive and violent as he once did.
At 40, he looks past his best, but he doesn’t believe that’s true.
“I’m in my prime now,” Wilder to Naji on Cigar Talk.
Wilder still sports that menacing look. Yet, that mind-numbing power he once had hasn’t shown up when he needed it most recently.
In four of his last six, the former WBC heavyweight champion has come up woefully short. His last few appearances have been particularly dreadful.
Joseph Parker won nearly every round against Wilder in December 2023. Roughly six months later, Zhilei Zhang took his pound of flesh, stopping Wilder in the fifth round.
Eventually, the Alabama native got back on track against Tyrrell Herndon. But even with Wilder being viewed as a gigantic favorite, he didn’t exactly blow him out of the water.
Wilder scored two knockdowns before knocking out Herndon in the seventh on June 27.
Now Wilder is in the middle of negotiating a matchup with Ring, IBF, WBA and WBC heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
The Ukrainian has seemed adamant about facing Wilder, who was last champion in 2021, in the first half of 2026.
Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) figures to be a massive underdog, but he believes his late start in the sport has helped preserve him despite his advanced age.
“I started boxing very late,” he said. “I started at 21."
Three of his four losses have come by stoppage, the most recent in 2024.

If the Wilder who was spectacular knocking people unconscious during his long, undefeated reign turns up against the Usyk who fluked a victory over Del, who knows what could happen?

ffs...
Wilder and spectacular should never appear in the same sentence, unless it’s to say he’s spectacularly bad!

Usyk on his plans for 2026
“My team prepare for me fight (this year). I want fight with — I say Bronze Bomber, Deontay Wilder. I want this fight, I think Deontay too (wants the fight). Okay, let’s go.”
On facing Wilder now when he’s past his prime
“It’s biggest names (I want to fight). This is man, last 10 years top fighter. It’s I think, for me, it’s great fight.”
On the danger of Wilder’s power and if he now packs a bigger punch than him
“Maybe.”
On how long he plans to fight given that he’s already a sure Hall of Famer
“I think two, three fights more.”
