Another thing what the hell was the cutsman doing to Williams at the end of that second round - made the swelling way worse. It was Dean Powell wasn't it??
I noticed that too. Pushing the swelling up over Danny's eye can't have done any good what-so-ever. Although it didn't make much difference to the outcome.nickd wrote:Another thing what the hell was the cutsman doing to Williams at the end of that second round - made the swelling way worse. How did he look petrified?? He took the shots and came back swinging?nickd wrote:Good win for Harrison but lets not go overboard. He still looked petrified when Williams came at him throwing shots.
Bollocks, he still panicked when Williams bumrushed him and you can see it in his eyes when he's backing up pawing with the jab. Unless he just fights with his eyes that wide open all the time then I would say the same demons remain. Lets see him in with a live body before talking of world title shots etc, because what he beat in there was a guy who wouldn't even win a British title fight right now and he was on a weeks notice.overhand_right wrote:How did he look petrified?? You just cant shake your image of Audley from a year ago.
Barry was 100% correct with everything he said about Harrison after the 1st Williams fight.SticknMove wrote:I don't think McGuigan went overboard with his comments after their first fight. Harrison brought the criticism on himself. Likewise I don't think Harrison was too damning of McGuigan after the fight on Saturday. The criticism that Harrison got first time round was pretty much universal, and justified, given his performances up to that point. In actual fact this criticism lit a fire up the guys arse and he showed us what may be possible if he approaches subsequent fights in the same manner. He talks about himself in the third person as though all this alter ego has to do is turn up. Hopefully he has learned and moved on.
