Seriously, whats happened to people? All of a sudden just because Hatton won't fight Witter right now he is the devil incarnate.

If he fights someone of the ilk of a Lazcano then fine - I think he is due an easier fight after recent fights.

Dear me some people on here should be ashamed (especially if they happen to be British). Give the guy a break, so what he eats pies and drinks guiness, so what he won't (right now) fight the guy you want him to fight but to call him a bottler - please thats not even worthy of a response.

Ricky Hatton has done more for Boxing in this country than anyone in the last 10 years - people should be grateful for that rather than bashing him.

Whats next - if Calzaghe beats Hopkins are we going to stone his house because he won't fight Froch!!!

Listen - Froch and Witter are good fighters but if Joe and Ricky choose not to fight them especially after Lacy, Kessler, Mayweather etc etc than good luck to them

He's definately done more for pay per view thna any other fighter in recent years here!!.... gotta love him for that havent we!!! :x :x ...and still yet to prove he's the best 140 fighter in the country too, ....but who am I to judge!???.... 8)

Absolutely agree. I like Ricky but I dont like the money road he is on right now. No Witter, no greatness in my book.

PPV should be friggin banned. We pay enough for watching boxing/football. If enough people said bollox to it, I am sure they would have to drop it.

I don't understand why the Witter fans (and I consider myself a neutral) don't forget Hatton and move on? If he's the coward he's made out to be, and hasn't got a title, and isn't going to provide too much competition for Witter, why does Witter want that fight other than money? I know people will say for recognition, but in my view I think he's more than stated his desire to fight Hatton, and now it's time to really push the level. He should be aiming to go make fights with Mayweather et al himself; if he can't achieve that without fighting Hatton then that's a sad indictment on the levels of Witter and Hatton.

There are paths to greater glory than Hatton, but sadly Witter's career at the stage has been slurred by his own fans continually perpetuating the Hatton link. As someone stated, he's won British, Commonwealth, European and genuine World titles - but it's not the Hatton fans that keep bringing Witter's name up. Witter's team need to make a final statement - 'we are always open to fighting Hatton as we think Witter wins' but then make some decent big matchups. If he could unify the jnr welter then go fight Mayweather/Cotto/Quintana whoever up at 147 and win titles then Hatton will be a distant memory.

There is a debate to be had that Hatton won't achieve a legacy unless he takes the Witter fight, and I agree with that, but it seems bizarre that the Witter fans are stalling his career barking up Hatton's tree. That just puts the ball in his court and gives him prestige over Witter as he has all the power to make whatever matches he wants.

I think we have two world class jnr welters, Witter's cards are on the table and it's genuinely time to stop hearing Hatton's name in every Junior Witter post.
