Kinda agree with Sligobhoy there. If you're Murray, you can't go from fighting total shit, to fighting a rough and tough fighter like Fagan. I think Murray will certainly have the skills on Fagan, but then again, most boxers do. However, I think, Fagan's toughness and aggressiveness gets him through and Murray won't be able to keep him off him. This is going to be a classic!!!!! Get it going!!!!

Whatever the outcome, let's hope they get it on sooner rather than later. This thread started six pages ago, that's one long pipeline

I posted that - however his toothless redneck of a manager doesnt seem to think its true.

Fagan will not stop comming forward (much the same as Gorman) and although Murray won the fight against Gorman (RSF cuts / odd Irish Board rules) he did not seem comfortable with the come forward style of Gorman. Murray doesn't box best on his back foot and this will cause him problems against Fagan or Gorman.

How do you explain Murray having won every round to that point then???

Murray won 3 rnds, ad i agree with the ref he did win those rounds, though the 3rd was closer, and ignoring the cut issue was still Murrays. gorman is a slow starter always has been. Personally I felt theat towards the end of the 3rd Murray was starting to wear down a little due to Gorman's constant assult. I reckon if the fight had continued (even less the cut) gormans constant pressure would have worn Andy down buy the 7th-8th rounds allowing Gorman a brilliant KO chance. this was also Gorman's game plan pre-fight.

As for Murray being a class above gorman it doesnt look like we'll get the rematch to ever find out. If you can get your hands aon a copy of the Gorman v Walsh Welter weight title fight in cork. Gorman lost by 1 point and was the traveling fighter, there will hopefully be a rematch again in Dublin for the Welterweight title (if the money is right)

I heard that figth in Cork was an absolute cracker alright.

Personally, I have no doubt that Murray would have stopped James in the Kings Hall, jesus he was picking him off at will and won the first three rounds handy.

I appreciate Gorman is a slow starter but he would have had to up the ante by 100 per cent to win that one. He comes to fioght, has great support and is in great nick, but I suspect Jamesie is more of a journeyman who lacks the class to step up. Time will tell.

You also have to remember that Murray was giving away serious weight, i think the weigh in for that one was 48 hours before hand. Murray is a lightweight, he'll be giving serious weight to Fagan too and I think he'd be better campaigning at the lower weight.

Reesy, your talk of a Khan fight (while crazy talk) a while back doesn't look that emntal in light of the Gomez match up. I would certainly take Murray over Gomez at this stage, not to mention the "champ" McDonagh.

Well, I wouldn't agree that fagan would be giving Murray a weight advantage. Fagan walks around at 140ish and now contends at lightweight. His trainer wants him to make super-feather and I think at some stage he's going to go for that, so I think the weights might be more even than you think, if not, more in favor of Murray.

Gomez was in the picture as a possible for Andy`s last fight but as you know it did`nt happen,maybe he knew about the Khan fight?

Andy`s future is definatley in the Lightweight division,he feels very comfortable at the weight and yes he`s power is improving,but looking back to some of Andy`s early opponents,how often do Silence Saheed and Billy Smith get stopped anyway? Two very tough fella`s.

No,same eye new cut,the cut against Gorman was worse.Both caused by accidental head clashes.

We took Andy to see a Harley street plastic surgeon to check out the damage and he was quite happy the way the skin had healed,coincedentley the surgeon was an amateur boxer in he`s younger days and had also treated Hatton.

Well we tried for Martin Kristjansen and Dave Stewart with no luck plus a few South Americans and now trying to get Peter McDonagh for the Lightweight title.

I doubt McDonagh will fight him, I hope he does but I have a feeling that he knows it would be a massacre...
