Odds will be close I'd say, it's a hard one to predict. I'd not be surprised to see a faster/bigger Khan batter a suddenly old looking MAB from a distance ( MAB has got zero to gain from this fight ) and you'd obviously not be too amazed to see MAB time Kahn's attack and chin him a good one.
Freddie Roach probably had input in suggesting this fight, and as we know, he's a good judge at picking the right fights.

It's an excellent fight to look forward to in 09. and thank feck for that.

If he wins, he has beat a living legend, and one who isn't shot either by any reasonable definition.

If he loses - well, he's lost to a four weight world champion.

If I was creating a book for this I would go Khan 1.7, Barrera 2.6, 33/1 Draw

Can't see this ever happening, MAB will take the gameplan that Gomez had and excute it to perfection, Khan won't know what to defend, the body, the head, the body and before you know it he'll be on the floor and his 'horrible sweater' wearing father will be trying to jump through the ropes ala Limond fight.

I'm so confident that this fight won't come off that I've agreed to drive Emerson to it wearing a dress.

James, I probably disagree with the statements myself, but I know that 95% of posters on here will say what I said rather than what you said after the fight, because of all the negativity that follows Khan on these boards!

The same Tyson In that fight lost to McBride so Danny would of won anyway.

Suppose Fwank believes that Khan vs. MAB will be a bigger draw than Elcock vs. Macklin and if Macklin wins he's British champ if he loses the papers and on-line will be all about Khan vs. MAB result so its a good gamble for him. Is Macklin back to Sports Network now? He's fought for and on some many promoters cards its hard to keep track!

Maklin is a sports network fighter and I think it's a fantastic match for Amir and after spending time with him in the gym it's a fight he'll win I feel!!

I didn't say it was a bad match up - I'm being tongue in cheek more than anything, but those are facts that I have stated :)

Khan had great size and speed advantages over a declined Gomez. That won't be enough against MAB. He'll either wait patiently to catch Amir's shots then counter with deadly accuracy or put on pressure and wait for him to panic and smash him.
I didn't see Barrera's fight in China but i can't imagine that there was evidence of such a shottage that suggest Khan could have an easier time than he had with Gomez.

Matthew Hatton v Ben Tackie was a well calculated risk this seems deranged. Maybe Warren thinks he's more trouble than he's worth unless he can make a fortune out of him this year so the kid gloves are off.

I'll definitely be buying a ticket (immediately after the weigh-in has taken place)

Where would everyone think this fight might be? Is it big enough to hold outdoors?

There is decent odds for someone who thinks khan will win . It may shorten quickly

Does Khan really have that much to lose at this stage, if he loses to a legend like Barrera? As long as he lasts more than 60 seconds this time he'll have at least done better than vs Prescott.

It reminds me a bit of Haye's fight with Carl Thompson where he arguably gained from losing his unbeaten record.

I agree with this statement..It's a calculated risk..No one would be moaning if Barrera was fighting Casamayor but people moan when he's fighting Amir..I personally think we should all get behind Amir as the kid is all heart and wants to do well..

You do get some comedy from some people. Fight a Fagin type and it's "Ha, another bum, Khan will win easily, crap matchmaking". Fight Barrera and it's "Ha, Khan is getting knocked out, he's a bum, crap matchmaking".

He certainly draws strong emotions from people

Yes he does in the eyes of the general public that have no idea of how boxing works and unless you go unbeaten your no good(although hes already lost the 0) A defeat in this fight would be disasterous imo in the eyes of the public
