Napoles by a hair in a very close bout. I'd like to see this one...especially over fifteen rounds.

December, 1969: An old, shot Floyd Patterson (46-6-1) vs. a ridiculously green George Foreman (12-0-0). 12 rounds...

Patterson has enough left over, to out pointed the bull-headed Foreman, though Patterson was decked in the last round. Patterson UD.

I agree. The fight in the ring was as almost as intense
as some of those in the crowd during that one.

Good night for all.

Bugner wins in a more convincing fashion this time.
His size, youth and developing skills are enough to
get the W over the older smaller Cooper.

Bugner UD 15

Shepard is able to land a big bomb in the 3rd round
that dumps Dunn onto his backside. Dunn was looking
good up until that point.

Sheppard KO3

Foster struggles but manages to keep his neck out of
the water and stay just ahead behind his jab and a
left hook that manages to penetrate even a steel helmet.

Foster UD 12

Frazier makes Johnson quit on his stool through twelve rounds. Frazier's face'd be pretty well-worn, though, as Johnson matches up well with him, I feel. He's strong enough to tie Frazier up in-close, & pound him with the uppercut inside. Johnson's right hands & jab would also take their toll. More taxing, however, would be Frazier's pace --- Johnson never saw anything like it, & after being floored twice in the tenth round, & hanging on in the elventh, a tiring Johnson fails to answer the bell for round twelve.

Quarry edges out Burns on a majority decision, in a bout which could've swung either way.

Willard would eventually find Cooper with that uppercut of his, & put him out, IMO. Willard KO8 Cooper.

Both men trade leads, with Berbick establishing it with authority
after the fifth. Awkward but aggressive attacks from Berbick blanket
out any leads from Mercer who follows Trevor around throwing jabs
that occasionally land.
A late flurry by Mercer traps Berbick against theropes, Berbick is
wobbled but manages to free himself by hugging and tabbit punching.

The 8th starts with Mercer on the attack, landing well and head hunting
Berbicks right hand finds the anvil like head of Mercer. Mercer lands a
left hook that sends Berbick down. On the canvas for a few seconds he
is back up on wobbly legs. Mercer lands a right hand flush that sends
Berbick against the ropes. White eyed and helpless the ref jumps in and
stops the fight. Berbick is wild as he immediately protests the decision
his gloves swatting at the referee.

Mercer TKO 8.

Marciano too ferocious for Spinks. Spinks boxes to an early lead, but the withering assault by the rock starts to take it's toll. Spinks goes down in the 8th on a perfectly time uppercut, and barely survives the round. Spinks keeps distance for the next 2 rounds, but a crunching lead right floors him again in the 11th. On shaky legs, he's battered against the ropes until the stoppage. Marciano TKO11.

I havent seen some of the guys fight :(

So Ill let some one else have a stab.

Ill give Seldon the edge over Morrison in an up and down
suprisingly fun fght. Both men on the canvas, but Seldon
off the jab and with his right hand manages to stop Morrison
with a good series in the 6th. But what a fight.

Sheppard takes Woods apart for 12 rounds in a lopsided affair.

Grimm batters Smith from the opening bell, and finishes him with a massive, crunching hook in the 5th round.

I'll take a bit of a leap of faith, here, & say Williams pulls the upset against a slipping De La Hoya, winning a fair MD. De La Hoya wins a rematch.

Main Event: Joel Casamayor vs. Marco Antonio Barrera at Jr. Light...

Undercard: Miguel Cotto vs. Kermit Cintron at Welter...

A pair of men who both fell victim to common opposition (Marquez & Margarito, respectively).

Monzon all-class against a too-green Jones who, eager to prove himself, fights a game fight, only to be stopped in the later rounds. Strong showing for the young Floridian, but he just doesn't have the big-fight experience to deal with a Monzon at the peak of his powers.

Pound-For-Pound: 12 rounds between The Executioner, Bernard Hopkins (2001) & Smokin' Joe Frazier (1971). A pairing of Philly's finest 8)
