To play devils advocate for one second...

Frank when he’s presenting the options to BT;

“We’ve got 2 options on the table for Tyson. We can go with Frank Sanchez / Martin Bakole who know body apart from hardcore boxing fans have heard of, and you will probably sell about 250k on PPV. Alternatively, we can go for Francis Ngannou in a massive commercial event, which will draw in a mainstream audience and probably sell about 800k...”

Which one do we think BT would want to go with..
There was a third option, wait until 27th January and box Uysk in the biggest fight ever for even more money.
That sounds fine, but they haven’t had any paperwork
/contract with an offer for the Usyk fight. Even Eddie is basically in no man’s land until he gets some paperwork for this supposed Wilder fight..doesn’t it strike you as odd that Wilder is chasing Ruiz instead of waiting for his bag?

I don’t even think Eddie is that confident tbh.

You can’t run businesses on a promise - what happens if the Saudi government, pulls the plug on it in a few months and everybody is left with their dicks in their hands..

Like it it not, Frank will have targets with TNT etc- he needs to deliver events and this other Saudi group have been able to deliver the goods for October. Which raises another question- why can they do the Nganno fight/event so soon, but the other crew can’t..
The last point is particularly good. I didn't quite understand why the Saudi double header had to be in December. Surely there would be at least one stadium available in September or October?

Mind you, it might be that Uysk was locked into facing his mandatory ( Dubois) and wouldn't be ready until December, and the fight they most want is Fury vs Uysk?

And would tennis be better for it?
The big difference is - tennis is still a sport and not been ruined by being a business.
Of course it wouldn't make it better, I can't believe anyone thinks that what Fury is doing is a good thing

You think that Doofy/Dribble/Mick are not telling the truth? that they really do not think Fury is playing a blinder??

Unfortunately they appear very much behind Furys latest money-grab ... fWank tells them how great it is so why would they even consider its not a good thing.
I think they believe it's good for Fury, and quite accept him grabbing the money.
I too believe everyone would do it given the chance.
I also believe it will be a huge event.
Nevertheless, while I don't want to talk for others, I don't reckon anyone thinks it's good for boxing.
They may well think it is what it is, and feel why not grab the money while waiting for the big fights.
For Fury there doesn't seem to be any other pantomime fights for him, he's not gonna fight MacGregor or Jake Paul, maybe an Eddie Hall type.

This thread has officially become a joke when "fans" want to draw analogies to Donald Trump or Trump voters. Simply because they dislike Fury and shit on Fury fans, they go to the next level. If you don't like Fury or the match, stop wasting one more second on it then.

Maybe it's because we are boxing fans.
Maybe we are airing our objections and giving the reasons why.

Maybe .. just maybe, we are hoping that it makes some sort of difference by giving an alternative view to it than that given by the people ruining the sport of boxing like fWank and Fury.

Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth .. I have never doubted Mick's knowledge of boxing, but even he has had his trousers pulled down by Fury. What hope does that give to the newcomers to the sport.

Usyk has already walked away from 2 dates offered by FW.
Fury has not received one offer from Usyk. Why not?
I think those dates need to be put into context. Uysk said he wasn't available early December because he had just had a hard training camp and fight with AJ and had war commitments at home in September. Fury, in August, had already floated the possibility of fighting Chisora again.

My understanding is that Uysk agreed to fight Fury in Saudi Arabia for a lot of money but Fury turned that offer down instead, preferring to box at Wembley on the 29 April, saying its better for the fans ( which is why he is now boxing Ngannou in Saudi Arabia..)

He then made Uysk an insulting offer, got his bluff called and then tried to mess about in negotiations. In the end Fury, having asked for a rematch clause, asked for it to come out. His promoter said that Fury hated rematch clauses and felt bound by them ( which is why he has a rematch clause in the Ngannou contract, according to Ngannou's manager).

It then emerged that Fury's coach wasn't even aware of any fight for the 29th April and wasn't training him.

Fury and his team said that they would box at Wembley on the 29th April with or without Uysk, but that date came and went and he didn't box anyone. Not having a trainer in camp probably didn't help.

Fury's argument is that they need to fight at the end of October because " they can't wait around". He wouldn't have to wait around if he had boxed on the 29th April.

Why didn't he box on the 29th April? Wembley was booked.

Team Fury's arguments amount to a castle built on sand. In reality its a simultaneous cash grab and duck for Fury. Just be up front about it.

mickey1975 wrote: 17 Jul 2023, 05:17 But what is your understanding based on? As FW said to Danny Flexen, nobody has a clue what went on.
*Fury not having a coach in camp
*Skills Challenge saying they offered Fury a lot of money and they were surprised he turned it down.
*Fury's promoters admitting that Fury had turned down a lot of Saudi money
* His promoters saying Fury vs Uysk would be easy to make as they had worked well with Uysk's team in the past and that it would be a simple 50/50 split, only for the split to shift to 70/30 and then loads of other problems.

Those types of things really. Along with Fury saying he will box Chisora again and would fight Ngannou, and then boxing Chisora again and now fighting Ngannou.

And the fact that Uysk had, until that point, never had a problem making a fight and had cleared out an entire division before going on to beat the biggest name in boxing (AJ) and winning three fights.

Fwank, having previously said that he didn't get Jake Paul vs MMA guys, is now saying that a Heavyweight boxing champion in a boxing match against an MMA guy " is a proper fight".

I find it hard to take seriously. I hope you enjoy it. Will you put some money on Fury? It will be free money.

Usyk wasn’t locked into anything with Dubois- the sanctioning bodies already agreed to the unification and Frank would have sorted something with him anyway to hold him off.

As much as Fury is a twat and Franks running around on defence, we cannot ignore the facts /reality of the situation just so we can pile on our own irritation.

Usyk etc is probably just as much to blame as Fury when it comes down to it.

Fury walked away from a fight with AJ to fight Wilder for a third time..

Didn't Whyte and AJ agree to step aside money to allow Fury vs Uysk but Fury decided to box Whyte because he needed a tune up first?

He really does not fancy the Uysk job does he?

No matter, he has dropped down levels to box Chisora and Ngannou, as is his want. Difficult to justify his own tag that no man can born from his mother can beat him etc etc.

Garath A Davis: Frank after this fight is over will you be pursuing the undisputed fight?

Frank: Depends who holds the belts.

AK: what about fighting Sanchez?

Frank: why would we fight him, noone knows who he is.

That tells you everything you need to know right there about what a clown shown Fury and co have become.

Would like to see him keen to pursue undisputed regardless of who holds the belts....

But i agree about sanchez. fvck fighting sanchez he dosent deserve it. Hammer, negron, martz.... who the fornicate wants to reward that run, its the worst run of 3 opponents i have ever seen for a top 15 heavyweight. it truely is awfull, (Well Otto wallin might rival it) but i think sanchez run is worse).

Certainly a guy who is fresh and sharp, like Filip Hrgović would be a big danger for a rusty AJ or Fury. Another name to no doubt be well avoided by both.

"after this fight is over" implies we are talking about after this fight. i hate this fight, but we are talking about after it....

Sanchez has had a dogshit 2 years, is as boring as any boxer to have ever lived (stylisticaly and projected personality).

After this fight there are only a few acceptable options. and for sanchez to become one of them he will need a big win between now and november.
