Another great fight on TUF Wednesday night. This season is on it's wy to being the best one that I've seen so far as far as the match-ups are concerned.

TUF 5 is my all time favourite but basing it on fights alone this series is definitely up there so far.

I started watching the series at TUF 4... Was 5 the one with Nate Diaz?

But yeah, I meant it's the best I've seen fight-wise.

BTW, RDS vs El Cucuy November 5th... What a fight this is!

Agree that this season of TUF is possibly my favorite ever. The fights are really high-level stuff.

I still think Tim Elliot has to be the favorite, but everyone who's advanced so far is solid and has at least a small chance.

Yeah Nate, Manny Gamburyan, Joe Lauzon, Cole Miller, Gray Maynard. BJ and Pulver had a decent rivalry going on and Nate had a tiff with Karo Parisyan. It was also the series with the best non-official fight in TUF history. The only street fight I've ever seen with genuine submission attempts.

McGregor vs Alvarez signed.
Embarrassing.

Seriously?
FW champ who has yet to defend his belt coming of an embarrassing loss and a razor thing decision against a fringe contender? The way they used Khabib is a travesty, not stripping Mcagregor after all this time is an embarrassment.

Let's just forget about McGregor being the FW champ. He's clearly not a FW anymore. I don't mind him as a LW title challenger, though. He has a decent chance of beating Alvarez, who will probably try to outwrestle him like he did to Pettis.

Do you think he deserves the shot over the top guys at LW?

It's not like there are so many other obvious contenders out there. Dos Anjos just lost the belt, and I don't think Ferguson and Barboza are any better than Nate Diaz.

Khabib was sent and signed a contract. Ferguson is on a 8 fight win streak against actual lightweights. I understood when McGregor was undefeated in the UFC even though I thought it was unfair he was being given the chance when other champions who have defended don't get the chance. But he just lost to Nate Diaz and his victory over him was hardly definitive. Aldo deserves his rematch as well he did everything that the UFC asked him to do to get it.

Khabib hasn't had a significant fight in 2.5 years. I'd much rather see McGregor get the fight than Khabib.

I'd be happy to see McG/Aldo II but it really doesn't seem like McGregor is ever going back to 145.

:TU:

Best card ever on paper. McGregor has taken any tough fight sent his way. On top of that, Eddie deserves it. Several more zeroes for a long time warrior.

I wonder if Cerrone is considering a return to LW. He's been killing it at WW but he has a win over the current LW champ (Alvarez) and one of the top contenders (Barboza) under his belt. RDA just seems to be his kryptonite.

UFC 205 is a beast.

Ferguson absolutely deserves the shot before Mcgregor. However, I believe McGregor has a better shot at beating Eddie than he does Ferguson. It's all about the money. McGregor looks better, at this point, losing to a champion than a contender.

It's definitely the most stacked card I've ever seen.

The press conference was OK, McGregors act is the same every time. When he first came out he sounded fresh but now after a few fights and a few press conference it's the exact same thing over and over again. I'm changing your bum life, he slow/stuck in mud/technique, I'll knock him out in round 1/2, mention Floud Mayweather. Yell a little bit change a few words but it's pretty boring now. It's a shame there isn't any good journalists when he fights instead of asking some of the great fighters good questions they asked a few of them shit questions and the McGregor questions to get a sound bite.

The low point of the press conference at the end was when a 'reporter' gave the finger to Eddie Alvarez for saying McGregor isn't a championship fighter because he's only got 8 good minutes in him(he does, all evidence says so) then went and called him motherfucker etc.

Probably over-analyzing but Alvarez looked like he was trying so hard to look unfazed by Conor that he came across all jittery. I still don't think many know how to handle Conor in these situations even if it is the same routine. Can definitely see Alvarez winning though especially if he wrestles.

I like Stephens too but was quite funny when Conor shut him down. It's like fighters get all worked up to take a dig at him and end up looking a bit stupid for doing so. Will be interesting if Conor ever faces Ferguson or Johnson as both are a bit weird but seem to believe in themselves 100% which is so important because if you don't, Conor will find a way to make you doubt yourself.

Sounds like Khabib vs. Johnson could happen on the NYC card as well. How are they even gonna find time for all these fights?

Jose Aldo now saying he wants out because of broken promises. Can't blame him here really. He deserved his rematch, all long time champions do. Conor got his rematch so why didn't he? Must be frustrating as a fighter in the UFC to see someone get such preferential treatment,

I can understand Aldo's position. I don't think he will make as much elsewhere so he should probs just wait it out. I think Alvarez will beat Mac anyway and then he will either vacate or destroy himself to reach 145lbs again. If he does that then Aldo has a great chance of beating him if he can take Connors left hand.

Cardio machine with good wrestling and good boxing makes me think he has a great shot. Alvarez is Conor's best shot at a lightweight belt though. I'm probably gonna chuck some money on Alvarez once all the Conor fanboys drive up the odds. I agree on Aldo he just needs to wait, he doesn't need to fight in the interim. Even if Conor wins I give him a good chance of getting the fight at 155 because there's more money in it than the khabib(who I would favour to beat both with Aldo having a better chance thanks to godly TDD and BJJ). No matter the weight Aldo deserves his rematch just like Cain got his and Anderson got his.
