Also Uysk shouldn’t take anything less than 50%. He’s also undefeated, has 3 belts etc. I don’t know why it’s such a big issue for Fury, 50/50 of a massive purse, a place in history etc. It’s a joke. Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk talks reportedly ‘at an impasse’ with time running out for deal, but hope of breakthrough this week still remains

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk negotiations are reportedly still ongoing, but currently stuck at a deadlock.

The undisputed heavyweight world title showdown is in talks to potentially take place on April 29 at Wembley Stadium, with a deal not yet done.

Initially, the idea was for the fight to take place in Saudi Arabia with both men receiving inflated purses from an exorbitant site fee.

However, it’s been confirmed that this is no longer an option on the table.

As such, the parties are attempting to put together a new deal based on a percentage split that will see them both earn significantly less than they would have done in the Middle East.

While negotiations remain ongoing, it appears this is proving difficult.

According to the Star, talks are now ‘at an impasse’ with time running out to reach a deal.

It’s claimed that there is still hope a breakthrough could be made, with news expected by the end of this week.

Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk has spoken of their desire for an even 50/50 purse split, while Fury’s US co-promoter Bob Arum responded by telling Krassyuk to ‘shut up’ and keep all negotiations behind closed doors.

Tyson’s father John Fury then spoke out and is seemingly less than pleased with the situation.

Fury Sr told iD Boxing: “Treat Tyson as the great champion he is. Stop trying to be the A-side. Usyk is not Tyson’s equal.

“Fall in line and you’ll get the fight done.

“Do not respect Tyson and you won’t get the fight, simple as that.

“Tyson’s the A-side and Usyk is not worthy of 50-50, he couldn’t sell the O2 Arena out.

“So fall in line and you might get the fight.”

The Fury's are embarrassing.

Strip Fury of the title, let 2 willing challengers fight for the vacant title and have Usyk fight the winner.

Leave Fury to Ngannou, Chisora 4 and WWE in Saudi.

If the WBC had a modicum of integrity they would sanction Usyk's next fight for the vacant belt.

It seems that Deontay Wilder is going to have a two fight deal against Francis Ngannou, so you can throw that out of the window of potential fights for Tyson Fury. Wilder was in Saudi Arabia strictly to talk to the prince about the financials of how much he would get for facing Ngannou there.

So if Tyson Fury is going to fight somebody else other than the Ukrainian it's got to be Andy Ruiz since it seems he's not interested in facing Hrgovic for the IBF interim title and Wilder is officially out of facing Ruiz for the vacant WBC mandatory position.

It all comes down to what Fury wants to do and WBC will facilitate that for him. WBC won't force a mandatory against Ruiz if Fury doesn't want it and they will sanction a fight Vs Ruiz as a mandatory if he does want that. If Fury would rather face someone else then they would make Ruiz face Sanchez/Makhmudov for the Eliminator while Fury faces someone else.

Fury is using the same tactic Floyd used to. Set a date for the fight, which you train and plan for. Then don't choose your opponent until six or seven weeks before the fight. You cycle without trace, your opponent doesn't have a full training camp and you gain every advantage you can.

Didn't he use a dodgy IV against Pacquiao? It's far from conclusive but it's not completely out of the realm of possibilities.

I'm hoping that Fury's complete silence during this time is an actual sign that he's taking it seriously and there will be a final deal reached, as opposed to his mugging to the Netflix cameras and multiple frantic deadline videos when bluffing for the last big fight 'negotiation'.

Yeah. Frank seemed quite relaxed about things. May just be that his team had won and he’d had a few drinks or could be that the fight is actually close.
