Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 29 April 2023?

I have (to no avail)
You’d have loved it today. After speaking to Bull I then coincidentally ended up with two brothers who fought on the Rhodes v Murtagh show you was at. Both personal friends of mine and travellers!1181567 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 13:23What like you continually claiming to be a Traveller and close personal friend of every Yorkshire based boxer ?mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 09:47
Lennox, you seem to be taking the Eddie Hearn approach of continually repeating something until it becomes true….
Let’s just wait and see.
I think probably Fury will be filed alongside Bowe. A significant series against one opponent and some dominance against a few lesser opponents. General air that they could have pushed themselves a lot harder.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 14:05Lennox was light years ahead of any of the current HW, in the top 5 all time, Fury can't get in the top 20 surely? He's had a few title defenses against 3 opponents. Lennox fought absolutely every top guy in his era too, apart from Bowe who wanted nothing to do with him.big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 13:14One can surmise that he wants no part of Uysk. I listened to Simon Jordan and Spencer Oliver earlier. They were debating who would win out of Lennox Lewis and Tyson Fury.AlexCayWalt wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 12:54 He got interviewed plenty of times during the latest two weeks and never mentioned Usyk. Usually before fights it's difficult to shut him up, but now he seems to be silent like a fish. Tyson, what's happened?
Really its an academic exercise because not only are they from different eras, can anyone imagine Fury agreeing terms with Lennox, if he can't agree terms with Uysk or Joshua?

I don't actually but I don't see a problem with either of those things.
Did you watch the Sugar Hill interview?big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 08:29 Just watched a couple of interviews with Johnny Nelson. He said he wouldn't be disappointed not to see Fury vs Uysk as he has come to expect Fury not taking on the best.
In another interview, he describes Fury as the boy who cried wolf.
And looking at the comments on all the YouTube videos, it would seem that 95% of the people commenting have come to understand that Fury is a bit of a ducker.
You'd have to say that Joshua has shown more courage in his career than Fury. He might have 3 defeats to Fury's 1 defeat (at the hands of John Mcdermott), but he is definitely the braver of the two.
For example, Miller is out, in comes Ruiz
Fury bolts it and fights Wilder for a third time, in comes Uysk. And he went in with Ruiz and Uysk straight away afterwards. Joshua can be proud of the mettle he has shown.
I did. He always comes over well. He and Tyson obviously have a very good rapport. My takeaway from it was that he didn't think the Uysk fight would happen but is too diplomatic to say. What were your thoughts?mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:27Did you watch the Sugar Hill interview?big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 08:29 Just watched a couple of interviews with Johnny Nelson. Well, there seems to be a very clear pattern to these interviews during negotiations for Fury vs possible ( in the losest terms)Joshua and Uysk fights, and I am merely highlighting it.mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:45 Nothing really, same as every other one I watch. You normally focus on certain things said, though. If it was an Usyk team member saying the positive things I’m sure you would have highlighted it and taken it as gospel.
How you can’t see Aj was NEVER going to box on Dec 3rd is beyond me, i don’t even think you believe that yourself.big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:59Well, there seems to be a very clear pattern to these interviews during negotiations for Fury vs possible ( in the losest terms)Joshua and Uysk fights, and I am merely highlighting it.mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:45 Nothing really, same as every other one I watch. Didn't Chisora and Charr both sign contracts to box Fury on the 3rd December?mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 16:06How you can’t see Aj was NEVER going to box on Dec 3rd is beyond me, i don’t even think you believe that yourself.big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:59Well, there seems to be a very clear pattern to these interviews during negotiations for Fury vs possible ( in the losest terms)Joshua and Uysk fights, and I am merely highlighting it.mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:45 Nothing really, same as every other one I watch. I don't blame them. Good job they did as well.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 16:28Fury's people sent contracts out to other boxers.mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 16:06How you can’t see Aj was NEVER going to box on Dec 3rd is beyond me, i don’t even think you believe that yourself.big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:59

Yes. It was 99% of people on here begging him to shut up to get fights made before... He obviously doesn't think Usyk deserves the equal %. I like to think I wouldn't mind but it's not my money.big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 16:36Didn't Chisora and Charr both sign contracts to box Fury on the 3rd December?mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 16:06How you can’t see Aj was NEVER going to box on Dec 3rd is beyond me, i don’t even think you believe that yourself.big lennox wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 15:59

Joshua also wanted to box on the 17th December, in order to get a decent training camp in, having had an epic duel with Uysk; but Fury insisted on it being the 3rd December because he was fighting Uysk in February.
Fury then went on holiday in January and the Uysk fight still hasnt been made.
Fury's team have also mentioned other opponents instead of Uysk. Just like Charr and Chisora were mentioned when Fury was in talks with Joshua.
Can you not see any parallels? I think Cus De Mato had it right when he said:
"It doesn’t matter how you act, or what you say; what you do in the end, is what you meant all along."
Fury: I'll beat Klitchko again. Outcome, he doesn't box Klitchko again.
Joshua is running from me... end result: I will give him an unrealistic deadline and box Chisora for a third time.
In Saudi before the Paul vs Fury fight, ID Boxing and Seconds Out posted that the only way they could get an interview with Tyson was if they didn't ask him any questions about Uysk. Again, actions speak louder than words. He doesn't seem to have tried to promote a possible Uysk fight very much at all.
If it announced this week that he is boxing Wilder again or Andy Ruiz, instead of Uysk, would you not feel a bit short changed?
But if he fights anyone else other than maybe AJ it will be for less money than the Usyk fight no matter what the percentages are. Do you not think maybe he doesn't fancy the assignment?mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 16:41Yes. It was 99% of people on here begging him to shut up to get fights made before... Pumped up middleweight according to the Fury clan. You are right his legacy will be in tattersManchester Hitman wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 17:29 Fury not taking the historical, undisputed fight would be far worse then what Bowe did with Lewis IMO. Usyk is a pumped up cruiser who doesn’t have lights out power, he also happens to have 3 belts.
Lewis on the other hand was….well, we know what he was conpared to Usyk. Still a bad duck by Bowe that said.
No, i see him as a very good fighter. Possibly the best cruiser of all time. And we know what a cruiser did to Lenny and Riddick.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 17:32Pumped up middleweight according to the Fury clan. Think his legacy is going to be biggest ducker of all time , Bowe was'nt a bad fighter but he's more remembered for ducking Lewis than his fights .Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 17:32Pumped up middleweight according to the Fury clan.
