prior gets the nod from me at 140 with the bottle.
mayweather is getting a pasting from the tornado that is aaron prior. in the 8th floyd goes down but gets up at 6 as the bell goes. he immediately sends a member of his team to sneak round to priors corner to snatch that bottle. team prior are ready for him though and a dummy blue bottle containing horlicks is soon in mayweathers clutches. he takes a swig, smiles to himself and comes out for the 9th ready to rumble. a jab from prior and an overhand right send floyd to the canvas for the full count.

prior KO 9

Terry is from Texas but now lives with family members in Ohio. Three years ago, he was in pretty bad shape, suffering from the same type of Parkinson's as Ali, and living by himself in Houston. But Terry had surgery about two years ago and received electrial inplants in his brain. I understand these have eased his tremors considerably, and he has regained some of his balance. Last I heard he was much better.

Bonavena endures an early knockdown to stop Cooney in six. A short, violent war.

Once again, & for real, this time around...Castillo, at the height of his career, moves up to Jr. Welter to challenge the 140lb. version of Cotto. 12 rounds...

Brutality on a seemingly all time level. This is a phone booth fight, and both fighters taking their turn wailing away on each other. I think Cotto has the game to finish Castillo however, and after being hurt several times himself, stops Castillo in the 10th round.

Castillo vs Tszyu @ 140

Tszyu by razor-thin decision in an epic.

The peak Tszyu moves on (& up) to face a prime Vernon Forrest in a twelve-rounder at 147...

Kostya is being outboxed until the 7th when he finds his mark dead on the money and Vernon is not given the same opportunity that Vince Phillips had to shake up the Rauskytralian.

Freitas tries to use his footwork and that awkward "boxing" style of his to keep the fight at long range, but Nazarov keeps the pressure on and finishes strong down the stretch to take the fight by decision or late TKO.

Napoles on a clear decision. Hatton shows clear difficulty closing the gap.

Joel Casamayor (2002) vs. Manny Pacquiao (2008) at Lightweight...

I think Casamayor would win. Aside from Santa Cruz, Casamayor usually gets tough breaks, while Pac usually catches breaks. I think Casamayor was a very good, possibly great fighter, and I think he could have won a decision (if the judges don't rob him.)

Not sure if this has been done, but, Ken Buchanan vs. Esteban De Jesus...

Always been a tough fight to call, but I think I give the edge to DeJesus' cleaner, harder punching.

DeJesus by fair decision in a competitive, part-tactical part-slugfest type of fight.

Next up:
Panama Al Brown vs. Eder Jofre, bantamweights.

Finally! A fight between two guys from the same era who could have fought, but didn't. I assume this is circa 1972-1974, 15 rounds. I think Buchanan would have outworked DeJesus down the stretch and won a decision.

Since My2Sense beat me to it, Jofre in two over Brown.

duran comes out of his corner like a tiger and whips in two handed assaults manny shoots out a left jab but is on a slow retreat. pac picks his game up in the third and some great combos puts a little doubt in robbo's mind.
great fight continues until the 8th when a right hook from manny is followed by a straight left of power to the chin of duran and he is down. beats the count but pacman stes him up for a right cross this time that settles the issue.

pacquiao KO 8

Mailer bulls & mauls his way to a decision. Tough old bastard. Hemingway didn't want it anymore after the ninth, but hung in to hear the judges score against him.

Main Event: Manny Pacquiao vs. Azumah Nelson at Featherweight!

Undercard: Fernando Vargas (1999) tackles Julio Cesar Vasquez (1994)...

Undercard:
Hmmmmm... I think I'll go with the "upset" on this one. Vargas shows his greater all-around ability, outboxing Vasquez for long stretches, but Vasquez keeps on the pressure, lands some big bombs when and where he can, perhaps scoring a knockdown or two along the way, and eventually pulls the fight out with a late round stoppage.

Main event:
Another interesting match up. Pacquiao was not as cagey or well-rounded at this weight as he has been in recent fights, while Nelson was more perhaps stronger and more fierce than he would be at 130/135; though still, Nelson has shown some trouble with movement and southpaws. I think Pacquiao gives Nelson hell early, being quicker and more mobile, but Pacquiao fails to vary his attack and Nelson makes the adjustments, keeps the pressure on, and comes back late to take the fight by decision or late stoppage.

Next up (continuing the new Pacquiao trend):

Pacquiao vs. Arguello

Duran stopped by Pacquiao in 8? No way...

Arguello beats Pacquiao at every weight, I would say.

duran KO'D by manny in the 8th? yeah, why not this is the hypo match up game and pac might have done it in the 1st had i wanted him to.

manny is ahead against prior until the 10th when perhaps he wants to save a little for the last couple of rounds but anyway he slows up. prior has it his way until the the 14th. manny tries to step it up but just has nothing in the tank. prior decks pacman in the 15th to take the round big and wins a split.

prior SD 15

i love the idea that this becomes a grudge fight after the hatton - manny bout.
however, mayweather finds it almost as easy as manny did and ricky is rescued by the ref after a pasting in the 6th.

mayweather TKO 6

PBF makes it a 1 - 2 - 3 for the states when he displays all his speed and ring craft and more than ordinary power to defeat chavez by wide decision.

mayweather UD 12
