Betting thread
Re: Betting thread
Wilder has a history of chin issues and his stamina is questionable. If Harrison is landing enough to win rounds, I doubt Wilder lasts 12.
I also doubt that Harrison goes that long without being caught and seriously hurt, and he's never shown good recuperative powers.
I will be shocked if it lasts the scheduled distance.

Re: Betting thread
My print out from the venue says 12 rounds but I thought it was less than that. According to a bookmakers website (I won't name the trash - they're actually accepting money on various fights already that don't even exist/ aren't ever likely to) - it's a 10 rounder.crusader wrote:Wilder has a history of chin issues and his stamina is questionable. Audley between rounds 1-5 @ 10-1?? Audley on points @14-1?
It seems to me that the bookies have decided that Audley is shot to sh*t and an old man. I don't see it like that. If this Wilder is as wild as they say he is and has stamina issues (never been past 3??) then I only see one winner here and it ain't Deontay.
Re: Betting thread
Even if Audley wins I cannot see it being a decision, whether the fight is scheduled for 10 or 12 rounds.

Re: Betting thread
Having a quick look at Harrison's record in his fights that have gone 10 rounds or more - he's been behind on the cards in 4 out of 6 of them. Even if he avoids the KO, he's not necessarily consistent over the distance to win on points.

Re: Betting thread
Murray still widely available at 5/1 with the big bookies which I'm surprised by considering he opened at 13/2 iirc. I had him at 6s and still think he's in with a shout. The Insider wrote:Murray still 6s to beat Martinez. That is massively overpriced imo and I can only see the odds shortening as the fight gets closer. It's not quite a 50/50 fight but it's huge value and Martin may be catching Martinez at the right time. I'm on it.
Harrison v Wilder is a bit of a mystery. Deontay has a decent jab and throws 1 2 combinations regularly but his technique is a little crude and when he throws his big shot it looks more like a clubbing blow rather than a decent hook. Having said that it seems to do the job against modest opposition. I can see this being a bit of a battle of the jabs early on which may favour Harrison if Wilder starts slow. Unless you want to bet big there seems little value in Wilder (even though he should win) so I'm tempted by Harrsion in rounds 6-10 @ 22/1. Anything can happen in this one and it's gonna be the same old story of how "up for it" Harrison is. I'd like to think he will give it a real go as I can't see anywhere for him to go if he loses. If he's not motivated and his arse goes it'll be an early night for Wilder. Take your pick.....

The bookies had Audley as big as 6's for Prizefighter. They have no confidence in him.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:My print out from the venue says 12 rounds but I thought it was less than that. Just put £25 down on Audley, £10 for rounds 2 and 3 at 50/1 and hedges on 1 and 4.
Money flushed lovingly down the drain. Believe though, and all that.

I've had a speculative tenner @ 6's certainly worth a small play at that price.Riddick Blowe wrote:Just put £25 down on Audley, £10 for rounds 2 and 3 at 50/1 and hedges on 1 and 4.

Re: Betting thread
Interesting but worrying point just raised on ESB they priced it up as a 10 round fight and it was announced as a 12 round fight, I've had this before and its normal
to void the round betting if that happens.
Fingers crossed they dont but its in the rules I read last time

They usually void round betting and method of victory but outright bets generally stand.GlobalBox wrote:Interesting but worrying point just raised on ESB they priced it up as a 10 round fight and it was announced as a 12 round fight, I've had this before and its normal

Had a bet on Audley myself after seeing clips of Deontay on youtube...but gotta laugh at that outcome.
Do you have any more 'speculative punts' ?

Re: Betting thread
Someone bitter..
Here's some more speculative punts for you.
A treble of Man Utd (vs Arsenal) & Barca/Madrid next week at home in the champions league - 10/1
Khan by decision - 7/1
Diaz by KO round 1/2/3 - 140/1
Martinez by decision - 3/1
All on betfair

Part one of the plan is in place. I just need Arreola and Martinez to win and I'm there.keithmoonhangover wrote:I'm adding Martinez to win at 1/6 (better odds than Victor Chandler) to the above.keithmoonhangover wrote:I'm getting a monster pay cheque on friday and feel the need to lash some cash.
So it's £100 on Wilder to win by KO in round 1 and Arreola to win. Gets me £437.50.
Easy money.
I'm also putting £900 on Martinez to win, which means that even if I lose the accumulater, but Martinez wins, I walk away with a £50 profit.
If Martinez loses, the future Mrs Hangover will wonder why I haven't paid the deposit on our wedding.

Fair play. Huge risk there hedging big on SM to cover but it paid off, well kind of. Bet there were a few squeky bum moments in the Murray fight. I lost this weekend on Murray.keithmoonhangover wrote:Part one of the plan is in place. What are the best betting apps? I'm currently with Sportingbet, just wondered if anyone has a preference?
