He really should have been stripped after deciding to rematch Diaz instead of returning to 145 to fight Edgar.

Pena on the other hand has no point at all. Rousey is the #1 female fighter of all time. When you have that sort of reputation you can get a title shot coming off a loss. Dominant champs get immediate rematches all the time, it's nothing new. And why would Pena get the next shot anyway? She's like #6 in the division. Not that we should be expecting any sort of intelligent thought from a woman whose favorite pastime seems to be getting into drunken altercations outside bars.
Pena seems to have a general hatred of men by all accounts aswell.

She's a fine fighter who just happens to be a complete tard.

I'd like to see Pena/Holm.

Dana was asked what Pena needs to do to get a shot he said she needs to not turn down fights. Turns out she turned down Valentina for the number 1 contender fight. She has like 1 top 10 win she definitely doesn't deserve it over Rousey. Rousey definitely deserves the shot, she was embarrassed by Holm who then lost to Tate who Rousey has dominated a couple of times, who was bashed by Nunes. Holm was then decisioned by Valentina who was coming off a loss to Nunes so really the Rousey fight makes a lot of sense to me. It's also a better fight than any other one other than Cyborg v Rousey.

Holm really screwed herself by not waiting on Rhonda.

Tate vs. Shevchenko would be a good #1 contender fight now. Tate has to get past Pennington first but I don't see that being much trouble for her. Even if Tate and Rousey both win, I bet the UFC could sell a 3rd fight between them.

Ferguson/RDA in 10 days. This is a cracking fight. I have a feeling Tony is going to pull this off.

Yeah I think Ferguson wins via stoppage.

Despite who wins the fight between Eddie and Conor, Tony should be next in line for the title shot and I see him beating either of those guys.

Don't think so. Well, she kicked a couple of dudes in the nuts because they wouldn't let her mate into a bar to clean the blood off his face. She's obviously a bit mental, but I don't know how that translates into misandry.

On the subject of lady fights, I caught the Alexa Grasso vs Heather Jo Clark fight via a stream the other night and I'm really no expert but I enjoyed it. I know most of the fighters in women's bantamweight but the Strawweight fights I've seen seem to be faster paced and more skillful. I am trying to get more into the UFC as boxing has been such a terrible let down recently.

I had everything set up to watch the UFC and the Pacquiao card alternately but I fell asleep during the Donaire fight.

It's a good time to get into it. UFC 205 this weekend is one of the best combat cards ever, on paper. It should deliver. Unless you have a very reliable stream, I'd suggest either finding a place to go watch it, or purchasing it yourself. It is definitely worth the money.

Main Card (10 PM ET, PPV)

Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor (for Alvarez's lightweight belt)
Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen Thompson (for Woodley's welterweight belt)
Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz (for Jedrzejczyk's strawweight belt)
Yoel Romero vs. Chris Weidman
Donald Cerrone vs. Kelvin Gastelum
Raquel Pennington vs. Miesha Tate

Preliminary Card (8 PM ET, FS1)

Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Michael Johnson
Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy
Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad

Preliminary Card (6:30 PM ET, Fight Pass)

Thiago Alves vs. Jim Miller
Tim Boetsch vs. Rafael Natal
Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagian

I hadn't realized quite how stacked that card is! Seriously impressive and puts boxing to shame.
Do think Alvarez will beat Conor as well in pretty convincing fashion.

Well some of her views in this article seem to perpetuate my perception of her

"I totally feel that way and rightfully so," Peña told FOX Sports. "Anything a man can do, a woman can do better.

I watched Liam Mcgeary vs Phil Davis the other day. As a Brit it was pretty embarrassing to watch. Mcgeary got completely and utterly dominated and his much vaunted BJJ and submissions in some quarters looked nowhere to be seen.

Mcgeary looked like he had no guard whatsoever. Davis was able to get to full mount or side control at will. Mcgeary just looked well and truly out of his depth. Showed the difference between Bellator and the UFC in that division atleast. Davis in the UFC is probably the 5th or 6th best LHW. Mcgeary was a bloody champion

to be fair Davis made the point in the interview, he made sure that he transitioned through the guard almost before the TD was completed a lot of the time, he went from TD to dominant position without having to pass guard very often IIRC because Davis reacted so mcuh quicker during/following the TD.

but still, yeah, levels, and all that. very smart stuff from Davis :TU:

McGeary never had a shot in that fight. He had enough trouble with Newton, who is basically a poor man's Davis. McGeary's takedown defense wasn't good enough to keep it on the feet, and his much vaunted guard was never gonna trouble an elite grappler like Davis.

It's a bummer that Davis is in Bellator now because there's really not much else for him to do there. In the UFC there are compelling fights for him, like Rumble, Gustafsson, Cormier, Bader. In Bellator, who's he gonna defend that belt against? Chael Sonnen?

I was really hoping Liam would have made it a bit more competitive. Oh well. As said earlier, Davis is just too good for a promotion such as this.... or any other that isn't the UFC.

Who you guys got between Weidman/Romero?

I'm high on Romero. Hopefully he pulls it off although I like Weidman aswell. It's a tough fight to call.

How do you guys see Woodley-Thompson going? I've seen a lot of people fancying Woodley to starch Wonderboy who's got the hype behind him currently.

Going for Thompson, Woodley is just completely unlikable. Thompson would be smart to start slow and wait for Woodley to gas.

I love Romero, it's a shame he didn't get into MMA until his mid 30s. His wrestling is ridiculous, he is fast and powerful. Can gas at times but so does Weidman. Will be an interesting fight for sure. I can't make a confident pick, Romero on paper should be able to outwrestle and out-strike Weidman for a couple of rounds but Weidman is so well rounded it could still go either way.

Yeah I can't stand Woodley's personapity either. He has a very entitled attitude. He somehow thought he was deserving of big money fights after only just winning the belt. I hope Wonderboy kicks his ass.
