Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | PPV - 26 April 2025
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Didn’t Dr Uz have Benn - Eubank Jr as an upcoming fight on his website in July?
And wasn’t there an instagram story of Conor Benn’s from several months ago with a present he’d either bought or received off of Dr Uz?
And I’m sure I read someone saying that the Dr was in Benn’s dressing room early this year at his fight in the north west.
And if as claimed by Anthony Fowler that Benn’s team only contacted Dr Uz in August to use him as the fall guy why would their gym mate Cordina also become a client? As all it’s done is tarnish Cordina’s name as well.
All logic suggests Benn has been doping & Dr Uz is his supplier & every other fighter on his website is massively suspect as well.
Everything else is just attempts to distract & confuse people so they don’t think it’s a clear as day doping violation

Eggie Hearn is so invested in Benn that he doesn't know what to say or do.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Yeah, it all stacks up to the exact opposite of what Hearn is saying about the Benn fight.

I just cant belive how this has gone down with hearn. Its like his ego thinks if he gets enough air time he can just fast car eddie it. the truth is the more air time he gets the more times everyones brain associates connor benn with PEDs...
Its his job to get everyone paid not be a safty marshal, so i understand why he was going ahead with the show. But once the board cancled it he should of just said 'I respect the boards decision, I dont belive connor has knowingly cheated, and think he has the right to defend himself down the proper avenues, and as this is an ongoing legal issue i wont be commenting further'...
When anyone asks him why he was going ahead, he can just say 'safty is the boards job, and they did there job'....
If he just left it there, he would be in decent shape. I understand the levles argument, i really do, but you cant drip feed it to people or it sounds like pure shit. When connor has his full defence ready, and he gives it to the board, you relese that publicly... mabey its exonerating (unlikely), Mabey it creates doubt (likely), but eitherway, thats your play then and there.

I cancelled my DAZN subscription because of the dodgy Campbell Hatton debacle and will not be coming back because of this. He got a load of shit for not taking questions at the press conference, he gets called a coward for not talking about it and then gets stick for saying things too. Last week he said he wasn’t going to talk much about Benn and then every interviewer pretty much led with a load of Benn questions. He answered them as he always does.
I think he handled the cancelling of the fight poorly. He should have accepted it as soon as the board made their decision rather than us having 24 hours of him and Kalle saying it was still happening. Not a good look.
He also didn’t come across well when he announced the fight was off. His joke at the start about slipping away for a beer was stupid and their was too much focus about lack of process with the board.
Now he’s talking too much about contamination. That immediately makes people think it’s the lab testing that’s at fault when it almost certainly isn’t. For me, he should keep his mouth shut about, say he believes Benn didn’t fail the test intentionally and leave it at that.
As Spud said previously that there’s no way Sims
knew about that, Eddie probably thinks that way about Benn. Just human nature. Like parents thinking the teacher must be lying about their kids. He just needs to leave Benn to it now.

Regardless of the stuff that went before, the moment this became public and the BBBoC made their decision (which were roughly the same time), Hearn should have shut the whole thing down.
At which point he could then have justly said, this is massively disappointing, this is over to the investigation of the fighter, and Matchroom will only respond when there is an update from that investigation.
But the promotion wasn't cancelled. There were open workouts. Fighters were turning up the next day for press conferences. There was a constant narrative, which was full of contradictions ("We have explored using other commissions....we won't other commissions....we just need to make people comfortable for the fight to happen........we won't do anything until a likely ban is served.....").

I know Hearn is getting a lot of stick but he is only a promoter whose job is purely to sell and promote fights. The board has the ultimate say and of course the fighters and their managers have to take responsibility. I don’t think Hearn has it in his power to pull a fight does he? Even if he tried he’d probably find himself in lawsuit if the governing body hasn’t withdrawn sanctioning.

I think the British Boxing Board of Control should have put a stop to the fight as soon as the drug test was failed.Controversial wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 07:58 I know Hearn is getting a lot of stick but he is only a promoter whose job is purely to sell and promote fights. I also think all the Boxing boards of Control around the world should start putting proper meaningful bans in place as an incentive to stop people using drugs. Otherwise, I suspect a lot of pro's will think, " I would be mad not to take PEDS" as so many people are on them". I don't know whether that is true or not, but if it were, then you could certainly understand that line of thinking.
But Boxing really isn't like cycling; you are capable of doing so much more damage to someone by taking PEDS than you would be able to do otherwise.

Tony Bellew launches savage rant at drugs cheats and pledges action with a ‘bat’
Tony Bellew has revealed what he would do if he ever found out his opponent tested positive for PEDs.
Tony Bellew has made it be known that he doesn’t like drugs cheats. The Liverpudlian claims he would ‘even the score’ with a ‘bat’ if he found out that a fighter had ever failed a test for performing enhancing drugs after fighting him.
Bellew’s comments come after a torrid month for British boxing and anti-doping. Ahead of the much-anticipated October 8 clash between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr, it was revealed that Benn had failed a sample A VADA drugs test.
Benn returned adverse findings for trace amounts of the fertility drug clomifene – which can double as a testosterone booster – placing the fight in jeopardy. Despite the British Boxing Board of Control’s prohibition of the contest, promoters Eddie Hearn and Kalle Sauerland attempted to overturn the result via a meeting attended by lawyers.
However, the board doubled down on its stance and the fight was cancelled. Since then, Benn has failed a second drugs test and is now facing the potential of a four-year ban.
Benn has continued to affirm that he is a ‘clean athlete’ and is focused on ‘clearing his name’. There will now be further investigations into the possibility of the drug entering Benn’s system by the way of contamination.
Bellew was expected to be on the commentary team for the Eubank Jr vs Benn card on DAZN but hadn’t commented on the situation publicly until a recent interview with iFL TV. Giving his opinion on the use of PEDs in boxing, he said: “I said this before and I’ll say it again – if a fighter failed a test after I just fought him for performance-enhancing drugs, I would go in the room with a f***ing bat and even the score. Make of that what you will.”
“I’m also not stupid enough to condemn someone before I hear everything … I’ve heard certain things before, I’ve heard fighters failing drugs tests and I didn’t condemn them.
“I remember waiting to find out about Canelo Álvarez before I said what I said about him. I remember [waiting to speak on] Alexander Povetkin before I found out what I found out about him.”
“I’d wait and see what’s what and find out what the real true facts are before you hear from this board, or that commission – because they’ve all got something to lose, and the credibility with all of them is at stake here.”
He continued: “I’d love to hope and wish that Conor Benn is innocent, I really do. Because what will be really sad is this kid’s career has been tarnished now permanently for life and we don’t know the exact damages and the things but once again that’s me being is it or isn’t it.”

I agree but if he went quiet straight away then that would look suspicious and everyone would say 'he must be guilty as Hearn isn't even trying to defend him', he's in a no win situation really. As the promotor and someone so happy to talk on social media and in the press he will be asked lots of questions. But ultimately he has no control over a lot of this.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 08:16Then he should stay quiet..Controversial wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 07:58 I know Hearn is getting a lot of stick but he is only a promoter whose job is purely to sell and promote fights.
