Thought the interviewer after the fight was a bit out of order. Kept pushing people on whether the ref should have aloud the last 14 seconds of the fight. Still pushing it after Froch, Taylor and the ref said they had no problem with it. I'm just glad the ref wasn't as brave as the interviewer as Taylor was clearly done at the end.

Its always going to be questioned when a fight is sropped so close to the end , If it wasnt stopped i dont think too many people would be giving out , having said that the ref is not supposed to take time into account but i feel they often do all in all i think it was a fair stoppage

Mcguigan was very negative but then Froch was getting a pasting ...when he was saying "I've never seen him look as bad as this " I think it was a bit unnecessary.

The ref summed up his decision to stop the fight excellently, saying 14 seconds, 1 second, makes no difference.
Taylor looked down , looked hurt (facially) and was on the way to the floor still getting hit. I can't believe people are asking about whether it was a good stoppage.
For me I though Taylor looked hurt bad on the first KD cos he had a pretty vacant look about him and he didn't move. Seen it done on a knee before but never seen anyone take an 8 count on their back!! It was luckily probably cos he was exhausted too and not just banged up.

A rematch would still represent a HUGE challenge to either fighter, but it would have to be at the Ice Arena Nottingham now, surely, and psychologically Taylor would be a bit dented.

As for Joe, maybe a zero percent chance on Saturday, but a ten percent chance now. But Calzaghe would win well.

Barry was bang on with his commentary and points though, what do you want a nutthugging biased commentator? Don't we have enough of those with Khan/Hatton? Froch being tired was probably true, its just he had enough in the tank for a final sprint to the finnish line.

He might have been bang on but it was very very repetitive.

Barry was a good fighter in his day, goes without saying.... but as for his TV work, I really, really hate it, whether as a pundit or commentator.

It's all come good for Froch!!!

What a dogged performance that was from Carl Make no mistake the wearing down process of Taylor started from very early on in the fight and although it was one of hell of journey from start to finish, Froch closed the show in amazing fashion.

By the 12th round he had Taylor in the palm of his hand and then proceeded to crush him with ruthlessness you only see from the best world champions.

I simply cannot speak high enough of Froch.....he puts the "Great" into Great Britain.

I was just going to post that Froch is the Matthew Saad Muhammad of 2009, albeit 7lbs lighter!!

Hugely exciting, with a gargantuan heart & granite chin.

I love the way he takes risks, but he's going to have to become a little less exciting if he wants to hang onto that title & not end up like Saad himself & endure a short prime.

He needs to keep those hands up, use that excellent jab more & loosen up a little, as he looked very awkward & stiff against Taylor.

You also have to feel sorry for Taylor who put on a masterclass to outbox carl for 11.97 rounds!

Got to say first and foremost I ain't keen on Froch at all and wanted him to lose BUT the boy done well to get the win in a fight he was losing!

He looked unbelieveably nervous but he was taking a huge step up in class and fighting in America to boot, Held his low far to left and didn't work enough, Taylor proved from that fight he is the superior boxer but I knew that before the fight started.....

However Froch composed himself after the knockdown pulled himself together and most importantly came back at Taylor although both fighter's were tired but Taylor more so.....

Good win but I hope Calzaghe does not come out of retirement he has nothing at all to prove against a fighter like Froch....

Hopefully this win will make Froch a major star in this country, after all he’s one of the most exciting fighters in the world, he’s got balls of steel & his interviews are always funny because he’s a Billy B*llshitter.

The fight was awesome, I didn’t score the fight but I thought Taylor was ahead going into the last round, but by then it was obvious that Taylor was exhausted & that Froch’s thudding punches had really taken a lot out of him, the last round stoppage was awesome.

Froch really is to cocky for his own good, his reflex based defence is flawed, he’s got good reflexes but to pull this style off at the highest level you have to have outstanding reflexes. Carl’s physical strength, determination & punch power really pulled the fight out of the fire for him, every time he landed anything flush (even the jab) you could see that it was taking a lot out of Taylor. I think Froch needs an easy fight next time out, one that he can win by convincing knockout on prime time TV.

As for Taylor I though he fought a good fight, his hand speed was phenomenal, he jabbed well & unleashed some really classy combinations, he also showed a lot of heart & a lot of class after the fight was finished. The same problems remain though, he didn’t go for the finish when he had Froch hurt, he fell to sleep for periods of the fight & he tired in the later stages. Personally I feel he needs to get a few confidence building wins under his belt then try for a rematch with Froch.

Personally I thought it was an average fight and indeed a poor one for Froch barring the KO and portion's of the latter round's..

For the most part I thought that Froch fought like his normal disjointed self, minus the confidence.

For the first two rounds Froch looked tense (and who could blame him). At the start of the 3rd round Froch was confident and his punches where flowing (he looked on the verge of taking over) then he got caught with a big shot and downed for the first time in his career from their he fought a more circumspect fight. So I would say that Taylor made Froch perform the way he did.

Average fight?

Froch down, Froch jolted with big shots in 8th, a slugfest round 11 and an unbelievable finish, taylor down, then taylor on ropes with his head between his knees!

Froch-Taylor lived up to all expectations and beyond. The fight had everything you could possibly want.

Froch's win goes down as one of the great British wins on American soil IMO.

Calzaghe went to America after making 21 world title defences, Carl did it in his first and had already fought in the US back in 2005. Froch wants to fight the best now and not wait until the end of his career. British boxers like Froch and Haye are a credit to the sport.

Lol who is the roadsweeper hes beat a few , Ya cant really complain about irish lads being discussed when theres a whole load of threads that involve lads lads that arent even from europe

Was over in England last weekend and stumbled into a boozer that was actually showing the Froch fight via the internet link. The pub erupted into madness in that 12th round. Fantastic stuff.

Good old Frochy. He showed pure heart in the fight and would give anyone (including Kessler) a real handfull over 12 rounds.

Hope he fights Bute next.
