I thought Hayemaker promotions were going to break the mould and really be there for their fans?
This is all very poor. Emails to promoters, no sight of either guy direct to the media, no mention on the Haye website

Crack on!!! I find it hilarious your urgent need to have yet another pop - by the way I discussed this thread with a prominent member of Team Haye!!
As for not knowing anything - again - hilarious - your envy and jealousy is getting the better of you!!!
Did I tell you that I had discussed this with a member of Team Haye ...
He really was a member of Team Haye and a member of this forum you know!!

You keep saying you smell a rat - was it the little one you spoke to ?

Haye was never going to win in Germany, anyway. It was like Ali-Frazier I all over again. Ali needed a few more fights and Haye needs a few more fights at heavy, then a shot over here.

So if Wlad finds an opponent , where do you all stand with ticket refunds?
I'm guessing that you won't get any, i can see why Wlads promoter is desperatly seeking an opponent

Is some kind of neutral party going to get to see some medical proof of this injury? You dont talk as much shit as Haye did and have it taken on good faith that you're genuinely hurt.

The camp were giving absolutely nothing away yesterday up to midday.
I was with Ryan sorting out some paperwork and he spoke to Cyprus on the phone.
No inkling at all that anything was not right.
Curtis has been out in Cyprus for a couple of weeks in the training camp, and all was well.
As they say, it'll all come out in the wash eventually.

I hope Buncey can get some info. Obviously his hands may be tied if there is a Setanta meltdown aspect to this story.

The German promoters told me this morning that they are actively negotiating with both Chagaev and Valuev and plan to make an announcement by the middle of next week.

This all reminds me of a press conference in Memphis to announce the fight between Mike Tyson and Clifford Etienne. Tyson and his advisor, Shelly Finkel, strolled into the conference and took their seats about 30 seconds after Les Bonano, Etienne's manager, had been asked, 'Who's going to train Clifford?'
'Buddy McGirt,' said Bonano.
The first question Finkel was asked was, 'Who's going to train Mike?'
'Buddy McGirt, said Finkel.'

If David is injured then there is absolutely nothing anyone can do, he cannot fight the biggest fight of his life with an injury.
However if Setanta are so deep in the sh*t that they cant pay him at all (and remember thats the only money he is getting for this) and the team are not willing to risk fighting Wlad for free then I will be very pissed off at the situation.
I am shocked that there has been no statement from Haye or Booth to go along with the announcement

If this is anything to do with setanta not paying him then there is no reason for him to fain injury
as we cant expect him to fight for nothing
However ill give him benifit of the doubt and he obviously is injured
and if this affects his training then he shouldnt risk it.
Very dissapointing but thats the way of Boxing
if it can be posponed for a few weeks then dont see why they cant reschedule for then as its a massive fight.
that was the one thing you were Gauranteed with Hatton
none of his fights got cancelled .

I think it was kind of thrust on him at the last minute. I know he was sat in a room discussing it with his wife for a bit and I suppose it wasn't really clear if there was any risk of infection or not and it would have been another worry for his wife. I can see that could have played with his mind only a few hours before a big fight.
Sounds ike Valuev didn't fancy it, he is happy to take the risk of fighting but having a vaccination jab would be far to risky!

so what do the conspiracy theorists think?
poor wlad, all pissed off. one of his biggest fights, etc etc. but let's not forget that haye had to sign the potential prime of his career away to those big lugs.
no sympathy for wlad. hope someone flattens him.

Haye was so desperate to get the fight he let Klit have all the advantages, fighting at home, all the options, taking a very short purse. In fact I think his money would only come from Setanta, Setanta can't even pay their normal bills and are on the verge of bankrupcy. Is there the possibility that Haye was not gonna get paid, and the fact he was a big underdog, all this would lead many people to think better of taking the fight

Personally, all roads point to setanta. Especially with nothing being wrong (from a couple of sources on here who spoke to people in cyprus) when the news the fight was off broke!!

Hold on just a second, now while the whole contract saga was ridiculous, David Haye was in no position whatsoever to be making demands, he hadn't beaten a single live heavyweight threat and jumped the queue straight into a title fight, he got the break of his life when they agreed to fight him and unfortunately for Haye he's had to pull out.
