This actually was scheduled but never came off. Showtime was even promoting it by showing their first two fights.

Some of those fighters weren't ever in the same division (Lopez/Serrano, for instance).AngryGoon38 wrote:Duran-Tony Sibson

Romero didn't move to jr. feather until 98; Orlando was way past it by then.

And Wilf was way past it by 86; he stayed around way too long, sadly.

If i had been Danny,i would've moved up to 130 to take on Serrano after the 1st Sanchez Fight,..Screw gettin another beatdown in a rematch,i'll take on a heavier but much safer opponent,Just Sayin,..
Romero was always a very big Flyweight, and a very big Bantam as well,he hit like a man 20-30 lbs bigger than his weight while at 112. He could've easily fought at 122 much sooner than 1998,he used to come into the ring close to 130 lbs while at flyweight. :geek2:

1. Serrano wouldn't have been a much safer opponent. He was an excellent jr. lightweight, a division where Lopez proved nothing.AngryGoon38 wrote:Rover wrote:Some of those fighters weren't ever in the same division (Lopez/Serrano, for instance).AngryGoon38 wrote:Duran-Tony Sibson

2. Regarding Romero, Canizales vacated his bantam title at the end of 94. Romero hadn't even challenged for the flyweight title by that point. And just because a fighter puts on a lot of weight between weigh in and fight night doesn't mean he's ready to jump three classes from fly to super bantam. Romero's power from super fly to super bantam was noticeably diminished. And Canizales was well past his best by even 97. Of course, Romero was concentrating on his super flyweight unification with Tapia, two divisions below where Orlando was.
