I wouldnt say i have ever been a fan of Amir but do like the way he has comeback from defeat and at such a young age has done fantastic. I cant understand why people pick on him for being thick (which i dont think he is) or his driving when there are worse role models out there who dont get the grief for the $hit they get up to.
I'm not one for making a snap judgement about the foibles & peccadilloes of my fellow posters, but it is quite astonishing the way young Amir gets singled out for opprobrium, innit? No coke & few whores; no wife-beating. Shite driver, but then again I'm a shite driver, & I tell you it's fecking lucky I didn't get access to a 400 BHP motor when I was a teenager, instead of a Citroen AX GT, 'cos then you'd've seen some stuff. & I'd probably be dead.
But he's "arrogant" & "up himself", which is obviously so unlike the vast majority of twenty-three year old male multimillionaires who could probably beat the living shite out of eighty per cent of people they've ever met. Also, obviously, he "Didn't go the traditional route", unlike say Ricky "was it fifty WBU title defences?" Hatton or Frank "British title? What's that?" Bruno, two deeply unpopular British boxers. Curiouser & curiouser.
Also, the loudest & most vociferous of those who do not like him always sound like they're about to say "So anyway, I'm not a racist but..." You don't need to accuse them of anything, they're too busy outing themselves.
Meself, I think he's a talented lad with desperate vulnerabilities. Wish him well & that. I couldn't give a flying fvck if a man's British, Mexican or Ecuadorian, BTW. Nationalism is so 19th Century. Also: I have no truck with religion, but I can't see the sense in singling one particular sky-god worshipping loon out amongst the rest of them (Pacquiao, Barrera, Rahman, Holyfield, Qawi, Foreman etc etc...).
