Thread and a half, this one.

I don't dislike the po-po in general, they're still people, not my kind of people, but people nonetheless. You're always going to get a fair amount of closeted nazi types flocking towards roles of authority, whether it be army, police or security. I'd like to think the good outweigh the bad by a decent margin (as has been mentioned), either way, it's not as though civility would or could survive without them (again, mentioned already).

A legislator or lawyer on the other hand... I'd forgive all but the very worst kind of ex-con.

As for illicit drugs, legalisation and all that malarky, why not? At least as far as cannabis is concerned. There's far too much bullshit propoganda and numpty logic at work where that plant's concerned. It's a shameful state of affairs when the US could arguably be considered more liberal in it's legislation than us.

The majority of ills associated with it are simply scapegoated because it's a soft target.

I am going to apologise for calling you both 'melts' actually - the term 'melt' where I am from means someone who is a bit thick, a bit slow, it may mean something different in London where Hurlock is from - he certainly didn't teach me this term though. This is a crazy ass thread Banjo that has got Me vs Richard Towers written all over it. I must say when I was in the job I was decent and proud. I never hurt anyone who wasn't trying to hurt me and 99% of all confrontation never got physical due to my ability to impose my presence on a man and make him realise he would lose. A lot of the time I was just nice enough to people for them not to want to fall out with me. I pride myself on my personal safety skills and taught others coppers for 5 years before I left. Cops are like anyone, there is a small percentage that give the rest a bad name, those are the only ones that you usually see because the decent ones are the ones that will prevent a situation happening rather than revel in dealing with the aftermath. I never used my baton or gas in anger in 8 years and can count on one hand the number of people I punched (trust me with 2years on the riot squad that is an achievement). I never had one complaint about my use of force. So anyone who reckons all cops are pricks can come and knock on my door and tell me that to my face, I would have been the one who helped your gran cross the road or stopped your little sister getting beat by her dick head boyfriend

I've lost all faith in our justice system, now people won't like what I have to say but there my opinions and I'm entitled to em.. Firstly tell me how a man who robs a post office were the money is insured gets 11yrs and a child sex offender touches children and gets 18 months!! The guy who robbed a post office done it with a banana in his pocket and told staff it was a gun, I don't condone what he done but I know it's a disgrace comparing his sentence with the paedo's sentence!! It really enfuriates me!!

Another one is the case of Jamie Bulger, explain to me how them kids are walking the streets an one of them has been convicted recently of having images of children on his computer!! Them 2 should be in solitary confinement for the rest of there lives no questions asked, personally I think the 2 of them should have been stoned to death by Mrs Denise Bulger..

I did a some wiring work at Clay Cross secure unit, near Chesterfield were on of the Bulger killers was housed for a few years.

He looked absolutely nothing like the photo you saw in the papers, i forget which one it was. He was a lanky, spotty looking dork. I think it was Thompson.

Ironically the place had a load of cash to spend on CCTV, panic alarms and so forth - must have been cos he was there. Pretty much the whole of the area knew he was there too, but you never read it in the press.

That is why I put 'real man' in commas because it was an outrageous thing to say on here. I would never ever question someone's manhood on here - it is disgraceful. And whatever Howard Daley is or isn't - he certainly is a man!
