It would make Froch some money, but it isn't a good matchup currently. Pavlik has been living off the Taylor fights for sometime now and needs a few wins at top ten level at Super Middleweight first.

Agree, but I fear it will be a bit of a Harrison vs Haye situation. Hyped beyond belief by Sky, when Froch wins comfortably..... instead of hailing Froch the experts will be "well, in hindsight Pavlik wasn't fit enough to fight for a world title".

To be fair showtime had one fight remaining on their contract with both Bute and Ward so wanted to save it for a big match up between them.

Obviously they're fucked now unless Bute rematches with Froch.

Can't believe that after investing in the Super 6, Showtime didn't then show a fight between 2 of the top 4 guys in the division. Their stupidity and definitely now their loss given the action/drama.

Having attended tonights fight i must say it was appallingly bad in comparison to the shows hennessy did for froch in nottingham .


the undercard was very uncompetitive in the main , amost to the point of why bother , and then a young lad whos 3-0 called Leigh wood sells 250 tickets to find out a 9:30pm that hes not got a fight , there was no atmosphere in comparison to previous froch fights , i felt embarassed that the Bute fans could be heard so easilly, lack of enough local boxers to keep the crowd interested and the venue seemes nowhere near as full as it normally is , its normally feeling so cramped that you feel a sporting disaster on the scale of hilsborough could occur , but tonight it seemed empty in comparison

all in all the froch win papers over the cracks , i genuinely feel i wasted my money going , and i only got the cheap seats , would have been no worse to watch at home .


Note to Matchroom , More local talent in meanigful fights on the undercard, rather than your stable in routine bouts , id say the show was cinsiderably lower value than any froch fight under hennessy from the past .

Oosthuizen is a possibility. Unbeaten, tall (6'4") , rangy, a sturdy fighter.

An outside possibility is Bernard Hopkins, he could probably still make 168 lbs and am sure would be interested in picking up a belt at 168 lbs plus fancy his chances against a pretty straight forward guy like Froch.

It wasnt a waste of money as i witnessed Froch secure his Legacy as a british boxing great , but Matchroom reall need to put more effort into the undercard , in the past weve had more local boxers that keep the atmosphere high as the crowd get behind them .

Ochieng vs Lowe i missed all but the last 3 rounds queing for the loo was it a descent fight ?

To be fair, there are the odd fights like this, where they've obviously spent a shedload getting Bute to come over and had very little budget left for anything else. I would say, enjoy it for the main event, it was the man Froch wanted to fight, they got it in England, the money must surely have been big to get Bute out of his cave. I wished I had been there you moaning f**ker haha!

40-35 Froch. The undercard was always going to be abit of a dissapointment cos they had to pay a very good wedge to get Bute to come over here in the 1st place.

2nd rd close but i gave Froch 10-9
3rd big for Froch and i made it a 10-8
4th big for Froch as he did everything but KO bute so again 10-8

Ochieng was a different class but Lowe stuck at it and showed alot of battle
