I think Mitchell will win but in a hard bout; both are class and wil have good game plans, both have good corners. I'm putting £20 on Kevin and maybe a fiver inside the distance).
Wasn't he producing Bad for Michael Jackson at the time?
Think you mean Quincy Taylor

Haha

Haha, I do get the jist Palooka. Leonard was aware of Hagler's problem with cuts, which Marvin had told him about, and Leonard figured he'd take it to him in an attempt to cut him until Taylor / Jones put him on his arse and persuaded him otherwise. Sparring gives a fighter a chance to learn and try things so isn't necessarily an indicator of how a fight will go.

Hi Ed,hope alls well mate, yes Kevin's a very good fighter but ricky punches much faster and mor acurate IMO and by far got the best defence

Ricky has the better defence at range as he has the better natural attributes; Mitchell is by far the more elusive in range, slipping, bobbing and weaving. Both are well matched and it'll be a good bout.

Slipping bobbing and weaving are hard when your being hit constantly

But being hit when your stationary is even harder to take....
Ricky has to keep him off at range with long shots to win....

I believe it is a close fight I take Burns on points. People who underestimate Mitchell are doing so because he is a lad about a town carrying knives in cars and supposedly hanging about with unsavoury characters, that’s is his fault.. The sad thing about this fight is both fighters apparently get on really well and the fans are the ones looking to cause mischief.

What problem? Why is my post of an opinion a problem? I'm not 'stirring' anything up. How does or would my post cause an 'argument'? Anyone 'arguing over it is immature, I stated in my post what I heard. I'm not willing any to win, just think its a good fight and that if I had to pick then maybe I'd go with Burns...Just. And that was if he stayed with his coach, Billy Nelson. I stated that if Burns didn't stay with Billy Nelson for the fight his chances wouldn't be so good (although not said in the same 'words' but made that point). Surely that is praise on Billy Nelson? Yet the man himself comes out 'attacking' like a child? Why? Your assuming that I came here to 'stir shit up'..That doesn't make you right, thats your 'belief', which doesn't mean its true.

Oh you little rumour machine Billy boy well it wasn't my man so?
6/1 for Kevin to stop the boxer with the best defence in British boxing I'd say that's a fair enough price a losing bet but a fair price.
Only 3weeks to go ricky is looking great in top sparring can't wait for the 22nd
See, why do you act like this Mr Nelson? Why do you get all uptight. Billy Bessey, if it was Burns that 'touched down in sparring, maybe his mind is not on the job? Maybe he's not happy in his camp? The same would apply to Mitchell of course...If it was him who 'touched down' ;;-) ... (read the full post Billy Nelson and not just selective reading before you jump all over me

where were the rumours before mitchell got smashed by katsidis?
where were the rumours that hatton had the flu before lazcano fight
or david hayes toes, or kell brooks weekends off...
rumours are like tips for winners in the horses...they always come from "reliable sources" and they are almost always unreliable.
Very true and being someone that has continually fought the gambling demons throughout my life I know this more than anyone how shit tips/rumours are and I still have nightmares about my biggest ever boxing bet on Ricky to get stopped by Katsidis which I thought was as nailed on as anything I had ever bet on. So I won't be going big but in a 50/50 fight I think 6/1 is worth a little punt and I know I shouldn't but when I think of Burns I can't help but think of when Johansson took him apart. Good luck to both though top fight with 2 top fighters
Get a grip billy, this is a far better and more experienced ricky burns compared to the one that lost to CJ,no way will Kevin Mitchell stop burns, burns will win this fight coz he's fitter, stronger and the better all round fighter
But Billy Nelson, dont you like to compare both v Katsidis, knowing that Mitchell was also a different fighter that night aswell. You seem to want to brush any that compares both v Johannson

This thread has widened out from a ridiculous beginning and contains some decent debate and is a good read in parts on the merits of each lad. I like both fighters, having seen ricky live twice incl kat fight, and kevin 3 times incl carl j and kat, but am going burns late stoppage for the reasons on the poll thread. Anyway i'm off to start a rumour, and then when no one else in the forum community corroborates it (even though i've decided its going to be 'well-known' by the way) i'll just keep coming back on here and spouting my trap off.

I remember being told by a reliable source before the Mitchell Murray fight that Mitchell was in terrible shape etc and was gonna get steam rolled. My gut instinct before it was for Mitchell to win but the rumour prevented me betting on it.
Moral of the story is that the rumours usually end up being a lotta shite!
For me its Burns to win in a good close fight.
Also wondering where the people get it from that Mitchell schooled Burns in sparring as he has openly admitted himself that he couldn't lay a glove on Burns on that occasion.

I like both lads and am looking forward to the fight. Mitchell is the underdog but he's raised his game when he's needed to before (obviously bar one fight). If prep is right, I think he's got a real chance.
I also think Billy is great value on here. Again, not the first time he has put his neck out to back his man and Ricky's not let him down before.
Hope Mitchell wins but you can't be sorry to see a gentleman like Burn's retain. Roll on fight night!

if billy was as professional as he is meant to be or any truth in the matter he wouldnt need to clear the matter up, if its all rosy in camp surely he could ignore the comments and just laugh about it, seems billy is very easy to wind up and if i was in the mitchell camp would definatly use it to my advantage. I like burns but am a mitchell fan, so want him to win and l think the fight will be close with mitchell getting tagged abit but not hurt, burns isnt a big puncher and think mitchell will be able to walk through his shots and the icing on the cake will be to shut billy up at the end of it! good luck billy may the best fighter win.

how is mitchell gonna walk through burns shots? burns may not have julian jackson power, but he obviously managed to punch hard enough to keep an animal like katsidis off him. mitchell is far too clever a boxer to do a john murray and think that you can walk through a top level opponents punches. if mitchell is to win this fight he 'll be slipping burns punches and firing off his own quick combos
