I've already told him to take off your glasses!! :TU:

He won, i'll give you that, the fashion that he won in just didn't impress me thats all, you two think differently, nothing wrong with that but if you were honestly that impressed last night with his performance, then we will never agree, he showed nothing of the superstar status you two give him.

That is my opnion, so we will resume after his next outing, where if he does something special i will gladly say so.
Thanks for accepting he won, decent of you.

I am impressed that he has beaten Junior Witter, yes. Am I impressed with the display? Given the opponent, yes. Hard to look too pretty against Junior, but to outbox him to the point that all his supporters are going 'what happened to our Junior?', then yes, still impressed.

Can't recall saying he was a superstar, but have definitely said that on his day I love watching him box and move and that he's as good in that area as anyone I've watched in person.

There are only two of us saying it because Frankie is not based in a gym in Sheffield

Bradley probably looked better than anyone against Witter. Even Alexander couldn't look good against him imo

Adnan Amar was supposed to have had the edge on Frankie according to more than a couple on here... is that logical? Wtf had Adnan done to be considered so great?

To clarify, I don't expect anyone to think Frankie was great last night. However, if you can't give him any credit for last night, then you simply don't want to and probably never will.

Sorry mate, don't misunderstand me, i don't mind him, and i do give him credit for the win last night..of course i do, i just don't think he is that great thats all.

I wish him well though. In fact as i said to jessi if he actually shows this sparkling ability he has i will have no problem saying...yes you were right, but he doesn't.

P.S. I never ever mentioned Adnan, just for the record.

It's amusing how it works on here at times.
Saying you don't think Gavin will go the whole way as a pro will have his supporters claiming you are no more than a hater and insinuate its based on nothing but wishful thinking!
I hope Gavin goes to the very top and unifies the division. Unfortunately, since he has turned over I'm not convinced by what I have seen hence why I, and plenty here also, don't think he will reach the heights his blindingly loyal support do.

I'm still not sure if Kell Brook will win a world title for example but could you imagine Gavin in the ring with him?

To ensure against being misunderstood, or once again misquoted...

I have no problem with anyones opinions of Gavins performance last night. I just feel that if you give him no credit for that, then you aren't judging it fairly. In the same way if I said he was world class last night, I would not be judging it fairly. If you credit him for the win but weren't too impressed, fair enough. No credit for the win, and you aren't being balanced in your judgement. I think that is a reasonable position.

I think FW has been reluctant to take a gamble on him to date and last night was Frankie's chance to sink or swim - he swam. I'd love if he were down a weight and/or had a bigger dig, but he doesn't. What he does have is fabulous movement, and when that is threaded with confidence, he can look unbelievably good. When Frankie got on top last night and the confidence came through, it was one way traffic. Some will argue Witter lost the fight, but he was fine for the first three rounds, might it not be that the ring-savvy Gavin worked him out? When Frankie moved and slipped, Junior became poor. In the last round Junior showed he had plenty of energy, but like Gavin in the first three, he wasn't able to use it. Why? Because he wasn't allowed to. Why? Because Frankie had worked him out. If anyone is asking themselves what happened to Witter, watch the fight again and see that by the fourth/fifth, Frankie had his number.

Having overcome Junior, I suspect he will make 2 or 3 succesful defences before stepping up again and winning at Euro level. How he goes after that will in my opinion mainly depend on how busy he is kept between now and then. Honestly, do a search on here and you'll find some knowledgable posters insisting he wouldn't make British level. After round 3 last night, I still knew Frankie would come good in the fight. By round 6 I knew he had come good. By round 8, I knew people would be denigrating his performance due to Witters age and antics. By the end of round 12, I didn't give a toss. And the new...
Just wondered as you seem unsure about him :TU:

Come on mate, the rounds Gavin won were down to Witter giving us a belated halloween horror show, not Gavins ring savvy. If you honestly believe that Gavin forced Witter to perform like that in the ring, i think you have those *'jessi tinted' glasses on again.

*sorry Jessi :)
So Junior won the first three handily, and then someone put a spell on him which stopped him in his tracks? I mean, he was clearly fit and had energy so did someone tie his hands together from round 4 to 11? Then untied them again in 12. Oh it couldn't possibly have been linked to anything his opponent was doing? That might involve giving Gavin some credit, we couldn't have that, could we?

And as for your unsure comment, read back over the last few days of posts. A lot of people were sure of how great Junior was looking, perhaps they can explain why he wasn't able to execute all the wonderful power punches we'd spent the last few weeks being promised. They were just as sure on Witter as I was of Frankie, its just that on this occasion I was right :TU:

And of course there was the other tool who kept insinuating Gavin wouldn't show up    Dickhead

:OhYes: great post :TU:

Well done to Frankie for turning up :DDD He came across well in his interview and seems a good guy.

However the comments of boxingcutsman who claimed he was beating up unnamed fighters at the age of 15 who were above world level (was it Floyd?) are delusional.

Good luck against Heffron or who ever he fights but forget about Khan, Kell or Ricky just for now lads.

But loads on here rate Witter higher than Hatton and you and a few others were saying how brilliant he looked in the gym, i'm assuming you included sparring with Kell in that...

It's a few years since I saw Junior spar Kell.

Some may have rated Witter higher than Hatton but unfortunately he's 38 years old now. Frankie could wait until Ricky is 38 but there's a flaw in the plan if he's waiting for Kell and Khan to be that age.
